A myth repeated for years can quietly become an unhealthy habit.
This World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we’re separating myths from facts - because awareness is the first step towards safe menstrual hygiene practices, dignity, hygiene education, and better women’s health.
Let’s normalise conversations around periods, menstrual care, sanitary hygiene, and menstrual awareness, not stigma.

May 28 is no coincidence! The 5th month for the 5 days she endures, and the 28th for the cycle that never pauses. Neither does she.
She shows up through the cramps, the fatigue, the discomfort that the world rarely stops to acknowledge. But today, we ask, should she always have to?
Rest is not weakness. Rest is a right.
This World Menstrual Hygiene Day, let's normalise the conversation, honour her strength, and demand the spaces and support she deserves.

Periods are not a choice. Pain is not a weakness. Rest is not a privilege.
If a workplace system penalizes women for acknowledging a biological reality, the problem is not menstrual leave, the problem is the system.
Supporting women’s health does not weaken institutions; it strengthens them.
Several countries and progressive organizations across the world have already adopted menstrual leave policies recognising the need for humane and inclusive workplaces.
If the world can move forward on this issue, there is no reason India cannot lead with compassion and progress.
