Here is your viewing forecast for Thursday night's near-total lunar eclipse! Great viewing conditions with clear skies are expected across much of the Central Plains, Midwest, and Pacific Northwest as the partial eclipse unfolds between 9:33 pm and 12:51 am CT. Unfortunately, thick cloud cover will likely create poor viewing conditions across most of the East Coast, Southeast, and portions of the northern Rockies and Southwest.

A NEAR-TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE will light up the night sky this Friday! While technically a partial eclipse, 96% of the moon will be covered by Earth's dark shadow, giving it that incredible, "Blood Moon" appearance. The entire event will be visible across the eastern half of the U.S., while the West Coast will catch the show right as the moon rises.
