What most people don't understand: the combination of advanced classical computing with fault-tolerant quantum computers with fewer qubits will be sufficient to break most existing cryptography.
And this will occur far sooner than most people expect in a true black swan event...

The base:0x37696cd8f723ce541ac376f79fc109080e505ba3 Cashtag on X points to a token that is not QRL.
The Quantum Resistant Ledger is an independent, post-quantum secure Layer-1 blockchain, live since 2018. QRL is not a token on Base, Ethereum, Solana, or any other chain.
Right now, tapping the QRL Cashtag on X shows the chart for an unaffiliated Base ERC-20, created April 3, 2026, that copies our name and ticker:
0x37696cd8f723ce541ac376f79fc109080e505ba3
This token has no connection to QRL. It already has 92 holders and roughly $6,000 in buyer ETH in its trading pool, people who may believe they bought QRL. Please don't buy it, and don't rely on the QRL Cashtag for price info until this is fixed.
What we've done so far:
- Reported to X Support on Oct 6, followed up Oct 15
- Contacted the Cashtag data partners
- Posted a public warning on Oct 12
What we're asking X:
Map the QRL Cashtag to the native QRL asset, or show it as ambiguous with no default contract
Stop defaulting to any Base contract that uses our name. Dozens of clones exist, so removing one won't solve it.
For those copied FYI:
- Cashtag partners: Please help route this to the team that owns asset mapping
- DEX Screener & Base: Please flag this contract as impersonating QRL
We're glad to provide any verification needed. Proof of the real QRL in the reply below 👇
📢 QRL community, we need your help:
🔁 Repost this so it reaches the right people at X
💬 Reply below if the QRL Cashtag has misled you or someone you know
🚩 Report the token anywhere you see it promoted as QRL
The more visibility this gets, the faster it gets fixed.
Thank you.

qrl is the og quantum crypto. they were tackling this existential problem a decade before it was the "cool" thing to do. code is externally audited by trail of bits, the gold standard. project is cited in various academic journals, even a Lockheed patent. it's really no contest.

$QRL has been post-quantum secure since 2018 – while the rest of crypto is just starting to prepare.
Hey CMC, time to verify that supply? ⚛️

On March 30, 2026, Google Quantum AI’s whitepaper highlighted $QRL as “post-quantum from inception.”
Reflecting on that today, QRL’s focus since its 2018 launch feels increasingly relevant as crypto confronts the quantum threat.

The $75+ million Coldcard hack is a harsh reminder of why security is important when it comes to crypto.
You know what will be a harsher reminder? When people understand Bitcoin, Ethereum and nearly every other legacy protocol is not post-quantum secure.

People insure their homes not because a fire is likely, but because the potential loss is large and the cost of protection is manageable.
That is expected utility theory.
Well over 99.9% of crypto market capitalization is tied to networks that are not currently quantum-safe. In a $2.5T market, more than $2.497T may ultimately depend on successful migration.
Now assume investors allocated just 1% of the crypto market to a currently quantum-safe option:
1% of $2.5T = $25B
QRL has used post-quantum signatures since its first block and currently has a market cap of approximately $65M. The hypothetical allocation would be around 385 times that size.
Not all of this capital would necessarily flow into QRL, and inflows do not translate directly into market cap. But even a small fraction could be significant.
Small allocation. Asymmetric potential.

Some thoughts after watching the latest QRL Show.
Many blockchains may not survive Q-Day intact. Some could fail completely. Others will migrate and survive, but potentially only after significant disruption, loss of assets and damage to valuations.
QRL is in a fundamentally different position.
If a CRQC capable of breaking ECC existed today, QRL is already built around post-quantum signatures. There is no emergency race to replace ECDSA after the threat arrives.
That really is the value proposition: prepare before Q-Day, not after it.
It’s remarkable that QRL still trades at its current valuation given what is potentially at stake. Whether the market eventually recognizes that remains to be seen.
Personally, I feel more confident than ever holding QRL.

The quantum threat to blockchain is getting closer. Is the industry ready?

Not only did $IONQ post a 287% revenue surge and close its semiconductor foundry deal this week, it confirmed its timeline for running Shor's algorithm, cracking RSA-2048 encryption as soon as 2028.
Progress is non-linear.
Q-Day is coming soon.
And few are prepared for this...

The deadline for Q-Day moved up decades. Recently, they thought it'd be at least 2035. Then it was 2030. Now many are thinking 2027 even.
Classical supercomputing, AI and quantum are synergistic and accelerating Q-Day with the potential for a black swan.

The quantum computing catalyst for $QRL
What happens when the quantum threat to crypto becomes mainstream news?
Cryptographically relevant quantum computers (CRQCs) could emerge in the 2027–2033 timeframe.
Hundreds of billions of dollars in crypto assets are still secured by public-key cryptography vulnerable to a sufficiently capable quantum computer.
Migrating legacy blockchains, applications and users to post-quantum cryptography could take years.
Meanwhile, QRL has been quantum-resistant since 2018, and QRL 2.0 is being built as an EVM-compatible, crypto-agile platform using standardized post-quantum cryptography.
That creates an interesting setup:
Quantum computing doesn’t need to break crypto for $QRL to become relevant.
The market only needs to start believing the threat is getting close enough to act.
“Post-quantum” could become a major crypto narrative.

Markets have totally failed to account for cryptographic migration risk surrounding legacy protocols, especially decentralized ones that require consensus.
There will be a flight of capital to enterprises and stores of value that prepared for Q-Day long in advance. Why not $QRL?
Quantum supercomputing plus AI makes a black swan increasingly likely.
Claude's Mythos was able to "improve the best-known attack" on a post-quantum digital signature candidate, "effectively cutting its key strength in half" in just 60 hours.

And yet @coinbase has failed so far to list $QRL, widely considered the most respected quantum-secure cryptocurrency and designed to be secure since its genesis block more than 8 years ago.
Why? Because it's not in the interests of legacy protocols to spotlight QRL. Disgraceful.
