I should probably write up my "why I'm not voting for Trump" in more detail. But in Twitter thread form:

I think training at altitude is a factor here.
We don’t appreciate the 2026 Denver Broncos enough. They are the ultimate professional sports equivalent of letting your younger brother win the first 19 points in Ping Pong, and then rattling off 21 winners in a row in the last few minutes.

Nice job, Republicans! Really know how to pick 'em!
Republicans were rapidly gaining ground on Democrats among Indian-American voters. Then Bo French happened.

Even after all these years, it's still a little hard for me to believe that people voted for him and thought he'd be a good president.
Trump went to the National Mall today to talk about algae

OK, my rooting interests for tomorrow night: I want rebukes. First, for Trump. This should be through an enormous, sweeping loss of the House. The more seats the better. We need at least one chamber fully opposed to Trump. 1/

I am unconvinced that the Democrats need to win the Senate--and the six year terms therein--just because I loathe Trump. They have not earned my support with their nominees. 6/

Either way, schadenfreude will be the order of the day. 7/7

Poor theory of mind here tbh.
yes, to be contrarian. but obviously no one, even a "devout Catholic," which is what O'Connor called herself, seriously believes that the communion wafer isn't a wafer. if you even believed that the wafer was soaked in someone's actual DNA, you would not want to take it into your mouth & let it melt on your tongue.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Flannery O'Connor did not believe the Eucharist was merely "symbolic" or "metaphorical," contrary to Oates' claim. O'Connor repeatedly stated the Catholic belief that although the wafer has the physical qualities ("accidents") of bread, its true substance is Jesus Christ. eucharisticcongress.org/post/american-… usccb.org/resources/The_…

He’s a madman.
“I could’ve won the Vietnam War in a week,” President Trump claimed at a midterm campaign rally in Dubuque, Iowa, over the weekend. The president added that “the only reason” the war with Iran is not finished is because, “I want to be nice.” “I want to try and save all those lives if I can,” Trump said Sunday. “But at some point, we’re going to have to give them the hammer.”

Yes, politics is an iterative game. I have a pretty straightforward theory of why the Democrats winning the House is important to my preferences. I'm much less convinced that winning the Senate is equivalently so.
It’s a completely reasonable position that el-Sayed losing is good for Democrats. Just as it’s a reasonable position that Paxton losing is good for Republicans. These kind of losses may teach the parties valuable lessons and help them improve in the future!

We pro-lifers need to build public sentiment for our cause and pursue a policy of prudent incrementalism. We need to make it attractive for politicians to campaign on our issues. Until we do, we shouldn't be surprised when politicians pursue a different path to victory.
Mike Rogers’s immediate job is not to use rhetoric that pro-lifers find appealing. Nor is it to engage in the pro-wrestling kayfabe that is federal pro-life legislation. It’s to get elected in a state that overwhelmingly legalized all abortion four years ago. The job of pro-lifers is to evaluate soberly the job he would do as a senator given his record and campaign rhetoric. nationalreview.com/corner/mi…

I’m always a little troubled by the question of how do we know whose probabilistic forecast is correct in a world where the election only happens once. slowboring.com/p/the-seven-m…

I can't speak to Stevens' motives. I do know that both party bases have gotten into the trap of thinking that voters closer to the center have no alternatives. A lot of times, that works out nicely for the base, but sometimes you roll snake eyes. Cost of doing business IMO.
Again, she’s only the latest defection. You can attribute her about-face to narcissism or the pernicious influence of Jewish money and, I guess, men. But she’s not alone. That Ds nationwide have missed the revolt among Michigan Ds is part of their problem. nationalreview.com/2026/11/h…

Definitely can't do it with binding primaries. #AbolishPrimaries
I get the responses to this, but one thing the old Netroots were right about is the internet makes it impossible for the old gatekeepers to function. In a country where opinion ranges from Trump to Bernie, you can no longer impose a politics that ranges from Romney to Clinton.
