The Austin American-Statesman has endorsed Gina Hinojosa over Greg Abbott. Over the last few years Abbott has become a mini me of President Trump. He has used his pulpit to demagogue against Muslims. He spent many billions on border security with no bid contracts. He is using his position to denigrate public schools instead of building them up. He has become a puppet of the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Before this year very few Texans had heard of Gina Hinojosa. At the start of the year no one gave her a chance against Greg Abbott.
