Honestly, I give up at this point. There is zero information out about the hack, other than the fact it was Trader Traitor (North Korea). Yet NYT have not only already decided it was AI, but that it's part of *a new era!*
DPRK has been looting crypto exchanges since 2016. Their go to technique is phishing. Nothing they do requires AI, nor would it meaningfully benefit from adding AI. They also hit less platforms in 2026 and 2025 than they did in prior years (4 in 2026, 3 in 2025, 6 in 2024, 8 in 2023).
Every hack is just AI now. Nobody did hacking before AI. It's the only way to get into systems. If the hack turns out to be AI, it was AI. If it turns out to not be AI, it was still somehow AI. There is no hacking, only AI.
october is cybersecurity awareness month and instead of companies learning to invest in defense and workers they will continue to doompost about AI boosted attacks while one guy and the number 4 stands between a massive infrastructure attack

Fantasy computer security problems: "Maybe by sending packets and detecting the timing of the vibrations of the computer case, it is possible for an attacker to gain information about the private key."
Real computer security problems: "The private key was 4. Not 4 digits. 4."
i know its trendy and fun to hate on the US but quite frankly the scoring at today's world's is giving "anyone but yall okay"
effectively every major tech product has been made worse in the last few years explicitly as a means of inducing growth, all as the tech industry has built giant monoliths selling software under the threat of job replacement, and in doing so has made all hardware more expensive
And with that we have our first dead AI startup, one of the first big names!
Character.AI said on Monday it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the US and agreed to sell some of its assets to Walt Disney for $20 million. reuters.com/legal/litigation…

Men do not.
The theory is that smarter women violate perceived social role expectations leading them to face backlash that men do not receive psycnet.apa.org/doiLanding?d…
