I bought a new paper shredder. There are no directions, but more warnings than my step ladder.
The device has a very thin slot - it’s designed to be the thickness of eight sheets of paper. Not hardly enough to put your finger in.
I can’t figure them all out, but there are obviously at least nine confirmed paper shredded Darwin Award winners .

Has anyone else noticed the ads that we are being flooded with recently for the company that can diagnose your entire psyche in 24 hours with one drop of blood that you can draw at home?

So this “married couple” tried to sneak a pocketknife through @TSA hidden in a toothpaste tube - their son apparently suggested that as the best place to hide it.
It’s found. They admit it was intentional.

For anyone who has been following our escape from Southern California to the Red State of Texas.
Today, was the “get the keys” day.
The adventure began in March, 2025 looking for some land. Bought the lot on a lake in July, 2025. Picked a builder September, 2025. Finished designing in January, 2026. Broke ground March, 2026. Sold our house in California (in four days), June, 2026. Got the keys to our new home today - September 23rd, 2026.
To say we are excited is an understatement
I’ve been buying a lot of @McDonalds new Refreshers lately.
I especially like the Blackberry Passion Fruit.
Unfortunately, they put these “special” lids on them - with a “sipping spot” instead of the semi-sealed straw hole in the middle.
EVERY time they hand one to me in the drive through some spills on me. I put the straw in. Every time I put it in my drink holder some comes out. Every time I hit the breaks, some sloshes out on my console. Every time I try to drink one while driving, I end up with it on my shirt.
Anyone else have this issue? Repost if you do. Can’t just be me
I’ve started asking them for a “regular soda lid” when I place my order. It puzzles them. Half the time I get one, half the time I don’t.
@McDonalds should put regular lids on them at the drive through, or the @McD_Mobile App should add it to the “customize” menu.

Today, my wife lost her 100.5 year old mother.
What a wonderful woman who kept her wit until the end.
On her 100th birthday, she was surrounded by her husband of 68 years, four children and their spouses, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many longtime friends.
She grew up as an orphan during the Great Depression.
Imagine the changes she witnessed in the world during her 100 years on earth.
From an outhouse, a wood stove and kerosene lamps to her iPad!

My independent inspection was today. Only a couple of minor issues noted.
We have a “walkthrough” with builder rep Friday - I guess to learn how to use the microwave or something.
If all goes as planned, next Wednesday 9/23 2026 we exchange a big chunk of cash for the keys.
We will not only own the big chunk of land on a lake we bout 7/2025, but also our brand spanking new custom 4,800 sqft home! It’s taken over a year, but only one more week. Best of all, I can’t think of a single reason that I would possibly need to step foot in California ever again!
It’s really intriguing (trying to use an uplifting word), the number of people who Follow Me, then soon after I Follow Back the quietly Unfollow me.
Result - my follower account has just sat in the same place for six months. Not that I have an allusions of ever being monetized, but Catfishing Clickbait Following, seems like something only a snake would do.

As the names of Americans murdered on September 11th are read aloud at Ground Zero, AOC and Mamdani are laughing and smiling together.
There is a time and a place for politics. This isn’t it.
Ground Zero is sacred ground.
Those names belong to fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, firefighters, cops, and innocent Americans who went to work one morning and never came home.
For a few hours, on one day, have some damn respect.
September 11th is not a photo op.
It is not a networking event.
It is a funeral America has attended for 25 years.
