When I interviewed for my current job at @TAMU I was asked what is the most important issue facing higher education today. I'm not sure what they expected but I said: The degree to which students are actively engaged in their learning. I still stand by that answer.

When did the phrase "welcome in" become so common? I had never heard this phrase until about 4 weeks ago and now everybody seems to be using it.

Students who handed AI the whole assignment scored worse on later tests.
Students who used it like a tutor kept their strong scores and wrote better essays. Same tool, different habit.
