This morning, my friend Paul Papalia announced he'll be retiring from State Parliament.
I want to sincerely thank Paul for everything he's given to our State over nearly two decades in Parliament.
No matter the portfolio, Paul has always approached the job with energy, determination and a genuine commitment to making Western Australia a better place.
I understand these are anxious times.
But Western Australia has stared down global challenges before, and we will get through this the way we always do: together.
We’re dropping fuel prices by a further 5.7¢ per litre. Combined with the 26.3¢ excise cut, that’s a total saving of 32¢ per litre.
The fuel shock caused by the war in the Middle East is placing significant pressure on global economies and household budgets.
That's why State and Territory leaders have this morning agreed to fund a further 5.7 cent reduction in the fuel excise.
This will mean cheaper fuel for families, farmers and business and comes on top if the 26.3 cent reduction funded by the Commonwealth Government.
It will be funded through the return of up to $400 million in GST and will last until 30 June.
