This is the kind of barchartery even Lib Dems haven't dreamt of
Published headline polling continues to rely on a methodological sleight of hand: discounting Reform support by four points through legacy turnout weighting while assuming full legacy party recall. In raw voting intention tables, Reform is already at 29%, breathing down Labour neck while the Conservatives stall in the low twenties. The uniparty uses weighted polls as psychological reassurance; the real arithmetic shows a dead heat across key parliamentary battlegrounds.

Fake news. I was 2nd in the MPs’ queue from 7.30am this morning (behind Des Swayne) for a prayer card to reserve a seat and there was no sign of Farage then. I didn’t see him come to prayers at 11.30am to come and claim a seat then either. You snooze, you lose.
Nigel Farage was unable to attend the Budget in the Commons because his seat reservation was removed, The Telegraph understands. The Reform UK leader’s prayer card — a green slip of paper that backbench MPs put on a spot on the green benches to reserve their seat — was moved after it was placed this morning. 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/business/202…

Farage's prayer card lacked a valid date stamp and was removed per House of Commons protocol. MPs confirm seats were available unreserved and he did not attend prayers to secure one. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/… x.com/hope_sapphire/…

Ben, I write about the chances of Putin nuking Ukraine at length in Killer In The Kremlin. Putin won't use a nuke. Because... 1) The Chinese will kill him if he does. A nuke would cause a global recession and the Chinese need a rich West to buy their stuff. Xi has said: "no nuclear adventurism." 2) Russia is next door to Ukraine. The wind blows west to east. If he nukes Ukraine, he irradiates western and southern European Russia. 3) The Russian machinery, aware of 1) and 2) above will stop him. So your dark pessimism is not founded in facts. You are Kremlin whispering. I learnt Russian at school; was taught Russian politics at LSE by a professor who had lived through both Russian revolutions of 1917; befriended four members of the Russian opposition - poisoned, then shot; shot; shot; poisoned, survived, poisoned, died; met and challenged Putin to his face in a mammoth museum in Siberia in 2014. Please set out your expertise in Kremlinology here. If you can't, read Killer In The Kremlin. And learn to think.

Tune in next week for Iggle Piggles thoughts on the triple lock
“Putin will go nuclear before he gives up.” Dragons’ Den star @FarleighRichard says that it may not be palatable, but Ukraine will have to accept a deal with Russia, because ‘the West won’t win this war’. @IainDale

Of the hundreds of congressional and Senate debates I've watched, followed, or analyzed over the last several years, I haven't seen a candidate despise his opponent as much as Ossoff visibly dislikes Collins.
Ossoff: "If John Lewis were marching today from Selma to Montgomery, Mike Collins would be grabbing a billy club"

An organizer of the Pro-Palestine anti-Mamdani protest in NYC today explains why Mamdani is losing support among some of his base who feel he has betrayed the Palestinian cause. This student told me she campaigned for Mamdani but will not be voting DSA again.

I feel profoundly sad for the Greens that joined a party thinking they were going to be environmentalists and have found themselves surrounded by antisemitism. I am also appalled at the cowardice displayed by their leader, who chose not to lead, but to hide. If you’re a Green Party member and your political foundation is rooted in equality for all, as well as being a proud custodian of our natural world, you can find your political home in the Liberal Democrats.

Last month, Diane Abbott stood up at a conference in London and described Ukraine’s defence against Russian invasion as, and I quote, “the NATO campaign against Russia” (watch from the 1 minute mark). Labour are genuinely mad to let her back in.

International Law was invented by men in the 1920s who experienced first hand what an unrestricted war of attrition was like. You haven't and posting a video of plane doesn't change that fact.
“International law” is a psyop invented by weak and naive men in the 1920s and should be rejected at every opportunity nitter.cf/xAviation/status/20787…

Think it's worth repeating. Zia Yusuf claimed no state support was being offered to Reform MPs for protection. In reality, Nigel Farage was offered a car, a trained driver, a bodyguard, and security on a similar level to that offered Kemi Badenoch. That's quite the deception.
