No single regulator can address Africa’s health product challenges alone. At #AMAWeek in Kigali, SAHPRA CEO Dr @Tumisemete emphasised the value of regulatory collaboration across the continent. @AU_AMA_ offers an opportunity to strengthen regulatory systems, reduce duplication and support timely access to safe, quality-assured medicines—so patients can benefit from stronger safeguards and improved access to essential health products.
In her keynote, @SAHPRA1 CEO Dr Boitumelo Semete Makokotlela outlined how reliance became a route to access during the pandemic and beyond. She also shared a set of questions to guide the conversation over the next few days including : 1. Do we share a common understanding of reliance? Does have the same understanding of “sameness”? 2. Are regulators able to get full access to dossiers and reports they rely on? 3. How are the 10 ML3 countries progressing in relying on each other?
