Dolores Huerta was a pioneering labor leader and legendary civil rights activist. Amidst the struggle of the movement, her rallying cry, "Sí se puede," was a call to stay in the fight. The work of Dolores Huerta and the United Farm Workers was a driving force for change across California and our country. Her brilliant organizing and fierce negotiating came to the national spotlight during the Delano Grape strike, and countless people benefited from her decades-long career. Thanks to her, immigrants and workers won better wages, working conditions, environmental protections, and voting rights. I was blessed to know Dolores for many years and proud to organize alongside my dear friend to champion working families and immigrant rights. I will always be grateful for her support and friendship. We will honor her legacy by continuing the fight for the dignity of every person. Doug and I send our love and prayers to the four generations of loving family she leaves behind, the community she built, and to the millions of people who have been touched by her work.

“This is the moment where the power of the people reigns,” said former Vice President Kamala Harris. “Where the power of the people leads.” Harris rallied hundreds of Culinary Workers Union Local 226 members in Las Vegas, urging them to keep pushing for Democratic candidates with less than two weeks left before the Nov. 3 election. Harris appeared alongside Democratic Attorney General Aaron Ford and Rep. Dina Titus, D-Nev., as part of a final campaign blitz. In 10 minutes on stage, she endorsed Ford in the race for governor, criticized President Donald Trump’s administration and called on union members to turn frustration into action. House Speaker Mike Johnson campaigned Tuesday for congressional candidates Carrie Buck and Marty O’Donnell, and Education Secretary Linda McMahon was also in town today.

The cost of everything from groceries and gas to housing and childcare is going up because of choices made by Donald Trump's administration. Those choices have consequences. So do elections. The midterms are our chance to elect leaders who will fight for the people. Over the next week, I will hit the trail in Nevada, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and Georgia to campaign for some of those incredible leaders. I'll see you out there.

In 21 days, we have the opportunity to elect leaders who will put a check on Donald Trump's callous, corrupt, and incompetent administration. Let me introduce you to some of them: kamalaharris.substack.com/p/…

Californians' lives are not expendable in Donald Trump's unhinged, reckless war in Iran. This is yet another callous comment from the tyrant in the White House who dragged the American people into a war that we do not want.

Absolutely. I went deep dive on this. There are lots of angles out there, you can stopwatch the play and all sorts of things. There are explanations on why the NBC broadcast slowly diverts from the pregame "sync." I went into it believing Western Michigan got screwed but after reviewing it all and talking to experts, there was time left. There just was. Michigan deserved the extra play. The replay protocols were not followed - which is what the MAC protested and the NCAA is saying - but in real life, in the actual stadium, under the actual clock, Michigan won. Believe whatever you want, doesn't matter to me. In the end this is a game that is always imprecise - spotting the ball, the clock, etc - so expecting it to be precise at the end might be too much. But the facts are the facts here.
Replying to @DanWetzel
You’re so full of shit… this is the credible evidence you’re staking your reporting on? A video from over 100 yards away? And even clearly at that, the DB hasn’t touched the ball yet? Get some real sources/feeds instead of twitter blowhards.

I get that games have protocols, but there was 1 second left on the stadium clock when the first Michigan Hail Mary ended. NBC’s feed was slightly delayed (but its clock was accurate) causing the confusion. There is an entire rabbit hole you can go down to understand why this is somewhat common. The coaches, players and fans see the stadium clock, not the TV broadcast. In real life, inside the actual stadium, the B10 was right and NBC was wrong but due to protocols it’s the opposite.
I've seen a lot of people still struggling with understanding what happened at the end of the UM WMU game. With the release of what I consider to be the best angle (shows both the play and the in-stadium clock in HD), I did my best to provide context surrounding the play.

Consider this your assignment for National Voter Registration Day. Head to IWillVote.com and check your voter registration status. Then send this to the group chat and make sure they check theirs, too. We all need to turn out this November and be too big to rig.

The frontier of artificial intelligence is advancing at an alarming speed. Over the weekend, industry leaders voiced support for an idea that the American people and many AI researchers in their own labs have been calling for: We must responsibly slow the pace of frontier AI development. A slowdown is critical in order to ensure AI serves the public interest. Pacing AI development does not mean giving up on this technology’s potential to produce life-saving benefits in fields like medicine — some of which we are already seeing. Rather, it is about setting up sensible guardrails so that AI does not completely escape human control and endanger our safety and collective future. This moment demands the leadership of the United States government. Congress must work at an urgent pace to pass new laws and establish a new federal entity to provide oversight and independent testing for this technology, to ensure accountability, and to protect our wellbeing. We need cooperation at an international level as well. The United States must continue to lead the world in developing AI technology even as we seek to impose common-sense safety standards. This means that the president must do his job to protect America’s interests by pursuing a treaty with countries like China to stop dangerous uses of AI, limit the speed of its development, and adopt global standards for testing.

25 years have passed since September 11, 2001. A generation has grown up in the years since, but our responsibility to remember has not changed. We remember the people who went to work that morning and never came home, and we remember the families who have carried their memories every day since. We will continue to tell their stories, honor their lives, and express our enduring gratitude for the heroism shown that day.

VP @KamalaHarris: Part of what we're dealing with is that for many people, the American dream has become an American myth. There was a time where there was a belief that if you work hard, you have access to opportunity. Right now, that's not necessarily the life experience. We need people who are honest about what's broken. We need people who are intent on fixing it and are not burdened by some nostalgia about how things used to be.

The labor movement has changed what it means to be a worker in America. Generations of union members fought for better pay, safer workplaces, and dignity on the job. Their victories have benefited all of us. This Labor Day, we celebrate the workers who keep our country moving and the unions that keep fighting for them.

I am horrified by yesterday's attack on Amy Acton in Ohio and grateful for the the actions of law enforcement and others who helped — including Dr. Acton herself, who stayed to help attend to the injured. Political violence has no place in our nation. People must be safe to participate in our government and electoral process without fear of violence. The hate and division that dominate our political discourse must end.
