We all need healthy food, clean water and fresh air. Artificial grass pollutes, overheats and can't support nature. All creatures deserve respect and compassion

the problem is the word 'industry' - animals seen as ££ making objects where they are kept in filth and pain - would you see this much neglect in an 'industry' producing high end cars/fashion - I don't think so #animalabuse #AnimalsAreSentientBeings

I deeply regret ever accepting the normalized exploitation of cows for milk. I grew up believing it was perfectly acceptable, oblivious to any suffering behind it. On this #WorldVeganDay, I celebrate the BEST decision of my life: choosing to extend compassion and respect to ALL beings by living #vegan. 🌱💚 Polly and Mabel deserve lives of their own, not lives of exploitation. THEIR LIVES BELONG TO THEM. 🐄❤️ For anyone still unaware of the suffering behind dairy, please watch DAIRY IS SCARY. Just five minutes that could change how you see milk. 🐄❤️ youtube.com/watch?v=UcN7SGGo…

This is Polly. At Oak Lodge Farm in Leicestershire, Polly will never graze in a field. It’s a zero-grazing farm, so its cows are kept inside all year. A robot milks them. No one seemed to notice how much pain Polly was in. She was so lame that simple daily tasks became excruciating. In one moment, she spends 25 minutes trying to step up onto a four-inch platform. In the end, she gives up. Mabel is suffering just as much. She can hardly hold up her own weight. Oak Lodge supplies Tesco. It’s part of Arlagården, Arla’s supposedly “industry-leading” welfare scheme, and it has won industry awards for cow health. So this is 'industry-leading welfare'. This is as good as it gets. There’s no kind way to use animals for their milk. They are not objects to be used for profit, despite what farmers think. Don’t fall for The Big Milk Con. Fake cobwebs like these may look spooky – but what's really scary about them is that they can trap & injure wildlife, including birds, insects & small mammals. And fake webs aren't recyclable – so will end up in landfill for many years. More: littlegreenspace.org.uk/feat…

Britain had about 30 million hedgehogs in the 1950s; we've got under 875,000 today. The population has dropped by about 97%. Shocking.

Too right Graham. No easy solutions as governments of all colours (and many landowners unfortunately) prioritise development over everything for economic reasons. But we absolutely need to find a way to make ecological reports sounder.

💔Tragic: swifts are finding their chicks dumped in skips and their nests blocked up by building work. 🚨We need an emergency system that forces police & councils to act IMMEDIATELY when nests are threatened. Sign the petition now 👇 you.38degrees.org.uk/petitio… via @38degrees

It’s quite simple..no rain means no water 💦 supply…how does this government intend to supply water to 1.5m extra homes and god knows how many AI data centres? Especially in the highly populated and already severely water stressed south east and east of England? @AngelaRayner @KanishkaNarayan share.google/JfIZ8FQa7Rs8yWY…

Brighton Climate Force c.org/wjsgZDMwYd via @UKChange It is not only Brighton gardens that are becoming concreted. There are drivable options that can still support small creatures and those that live in the soil. Living soil stores carbon, absorbs water to cool temps

Please please stop this 😩 Your balloon release could cost an animal its life. Birthday balloons, memorial balloons, beautiful gestures sent floating into the sky. I understand the sentiment, especially when remembering someone we love. But what goes up must come down, and so often it’s our countryside and farmland that become the final resting place. Balloons and their ribbons can entangle wildlife, be swallowed by livestock and leave litter scattered across our beautiful landscape. A few moments of celebration can leave devastating consequences. Please find a different way. @KeepBritainTidy @cleanupbritain @CPRE @RSPCA_Official @nationaltrust @WoodlandTrust @mcsuk @NFUTweets

Surely developers can do better than these examples. Hard surfaces without any plantings will only add to flooding, urban heat and loss of wildlife. Other options with plants can still be driveable.
