An edifying review of @ReformTheoSem's new commentary on the Westminster Confession of Faith (@crossway), by @demyronhaynes!
While no single sentence can capture the fullness of the Reformed tradition, at minimum it means three things: to be biblical, to be covenantal, and to be confessional. We need to know where those roots came from: thegospelcoalition.org/revie…

For all of human history, a familiar voice meant a real person was present. That connection is now broken. AI has eroded our trust in what we see. Now, it threatens to erode our trust in what we hear.
🇺🇸 Jack Dorsey’s new AI voice model Dessa is absolutely insane. There is no way to distinguish it from a human, man … crazy. Thats kinda cool, but many people will get attached to it and isolate from real humans even more. Many will get scammed on the phone, especially grandpas and grandmas. The future is coming get ready

No one wants this Narnia.
Netflix is getting rocked behind the scenes, and our source says Narnia is part of the problem. Film chief Dan Lin was fired over the weekend. Chief content officer Bela Bajaria was already out. Now a Paramount source tells CBN: “Development frozen right now.” Scripts and pitches are reportedly sitting in limbo, with people unable to even get calls or emails answered. Then the source went right at Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: “Narnia is a mega woke slop insanity.” “Think Amazon Rings of Power but worse.” The $280M movie was already said to be in trouble internally, with insiders calling it “awful” and “a genuine problem.” Reshoots followed a summer test screening. The first trailer then got hammered with dislikes. Now Dan Lin is gone with the movie just months from release. Our source also says this is bigger than Netflix. “More firings are coming. And not just Netflix.” Disney, Hulu, Amazon Prime and others are all said to be making moves. The source’s blunt summary: “Glut = Slop.” And with Paramount and Warner Bros. now combined under Skydance, the pressure is only going up. Netflix has already lost two of its top content executives in a matter of days. According to our source, the shakeup is only starting. More: cosmicbook.news/narnia-woke-…

As of this afternoon, the doctors have given Maggie a diagnosis of transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy, or TMA. The conditioning regimen of chemotherapy and radiation, and the transplants themselves have caused damage to the walls of her small blood vessels. This can cause a cascade of issues including tiny clots, the hemolysis we’ve seen, and organ dysfunction. While this condition is life-threatening when unchecked, if caught early, there is an effective treatment that can repair the damage. Maggie's doctors believe they have caught her TMA early. She will remain hospitalized until she begins the treatment, and eventually transfer to out patient treatments. The past several days have been a blow. Having our family together for a little while was wonderful. Along with the weight of this new diagnosis for Maggie, it has been particularly bitter to be separated again. We cry out with the psalmist, How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? We have prayed for Maggie’s healing and for our family to be together. The Lord has other plans. As we wait in these uncertain days, we pray that we would also say with the psalmist, But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me. Psalm 13 “To be at rest in God is for the soul to sit down satisfied with what God does as best, and with what God is as all.” ⁃ Edward Pearse

Maggie’s doctors suspect TMA, a post-transplant complication that can damage red blood cells and affect organs. She isn’t diagnosed yet, but the markers are becoming clearer, and they’re preparing for treatment while more tests come back. Thankfully, she’s stable without severe symptoms. They’re also adjusting medicines for rising blood pressure. We expect her to stay at UMMC through at least Tuesday. Please pray for clear answers, wisdom for her team, protection for her graft and her organs, and healing.
Maggie's temperature started rising earlier this evening. She and Caitlin left for the hospital about an hour ago (two hour drive). Please pray for safety on the road, for quick processing through the Batson ER, and for the doctors to have wisdom as they tend to Maggie. Some of main team is on call this weekend and for that we are grateful. Thank you. We will update as we know more. The moon is always round and God is always good.

The 134th stated meeting of Illiana Presbytery concluded its work this afternoon. It was an honor to invite Chris Vogel and Corey Pelton to speak to us on rural church planting in the midwest for the Presbyterian retreat. I always enjoy bringing one of my sons to retreat.

Grateful to be a part of today's PCA Permanent Committee meeting for Administration, ably chaired by RE EJ Nusbaum in Lawrenceville, GA, along with my Senior Minister @RDP4Christ, and many other PCA brothers. Our church @SPCGreenville contributes generously to the work of PCAAC. Today was in some ways opening day for our new stated clerk TE @FredGreco, and he was great, well prepared and aided our work. Grateful as well for Dixie (and Heidi!) and all the AC staff, the PCA has a good home team. I'm already looking forward to GA in Wisconsin. The PCA has about a dozen people on this staff who administratively serve a denomination of a half million people with assets of a billion dollars with responsibility for putting on the largest annual "town hall" in the english speaking presbyterian and reformed world. It's a remarkable operation. Here i am with AI Study Committee Chairman Frank Cohee, who was also in excellent form today.
