My sister said: Nurses can do 70% of what doctors do, and sometimes do it BETTER. My surgeon sister told me something last week that shocked me. Nurses can now do many doctor jobs, and patients do JUST AS WELL. Not my opinion. A big study in February 2026, 82 hospitals, 28,000 patients, 20 countries. They found nurse-led care = doctor-led care for death rate, safety, quality of life. In fact, for diabetes, cancer follow-up and skin problems, patients did BETTER with nurses. She said: "We doctors know it. In the ward, nurses know the patient more, I mean they stay with them more than the doctors." So why the fight between doctors and nurses? Why do they not marry each other? Actually they DO. 40% of married doctors in US marry someone in healthcare, nurse, pharmacist, fellow doctor. Why? Because who else will understand when your pager rings at 2AM? Have you noticed doctors and nurses dating in your hospital?
