Taking politics out of policing means working together to deliver for our officers and the people they serve. This is how we move forward.
When we invest in safety, we invest in the future of #STL.
St. Louis has been selected as a U.S. Department of Justice’s Model City, making St. Louis one of four American cities selected from 47 that applied.
The grant will support major investments in police recruitment, crime-fighting technology, officer safety and community services, that will benefit the City of St. Louis for decades to come.

Cooler weather makes it tempting to leave windows open, but please close and lock them—and check your doors—before heading to bed tonight. Take a moment to read this @SLMPD alert and share it with your neighbors. If you see suspicious activity, call 911 immediately.
PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT: The #SLMPD is investigating four burglaries and at least one attempted burglary reported between Sept. 30 and Oct. 4 in Soulard, Compton Heights, Shaw and Skinker-DeBaliviere. As detectives reviewed the reports and photos obtained during the investigation, they identified a pattern and believe the same suspect could be involved. We are alerting residents as that investigation continues.
The incidents occurred between approximately 1 and 4 a.m. In at least two burglaries, the suspect entered an occupied home while residents were asleep and stole items. In another, a vehicle was stolen and later recovered.
Lock your doors and windows before going to bed. If you see someone looking into homes or notice other suspicious activity, call 911 immediately. Do not confront the person.

Last week, ATF was on patrol with @SLMPD, when they identified a vehicle associated with outstanding traffic warrants.
During the stop, the driver was found in possession of a Glock pistol and a small baggie of suspected narcotics. Agents quickly recognized him as a previous ATF defendant and convicted felon on supervised release, making it illegal for him to possess a firearm. The driver was compliant and taken into custody without further incident.
This is Operation Show me Justice in action: ATF working alongside our local partners to identify armed, prohibited individuals and keep firearms out of the hands of those who cannot legally possess them. One patrol. One illegal firearm recovered. One more opportunity to prevent that gun from being used in a violent crime.
