The Polling Unit, PU 12-03-02-001, at Udomi Primary School, in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State, which is linked to Governor Okpebholo, recorded a 1,105 percent increase within two years, gaining 4,386 new Voters. In 2024, the unit had 397 Voters on the INEC Register, during the Edo State Governorship election. In the October 2026, Preliminary Register, however, the same Polling Unit now has 4,783 voters. The discrepancy was flagged by an X user, @mundus01, who compared INEC's 2024 Form EC8A for the Edo State Governorship election, with the Commission's latest Preliminary Register for the 2027 general elections. "In 2024, Governor Okpebholo's Polling Unit had 397 Voters on the Register. In 2026, it has 4,783. That is 4,386 new Voters, a 1,105% increase. The development has sparked questions about the credibility of the new Voters Register by INEC, under its Chairman, Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan, and what Critics describe as a possible rigging strategy, ahead of the 2027 elections, especially at a Polling Unit directly linked to a sitting State Governor. Recall, that the Edo State Governor had publicly vowed to deliver at least 2.5 million votes to President Tinubu, in the 2027 Presidential election, leaving millions of Nigerians wondering how. Thorough calculations by "Atiku Is For The People" global movement, found out that the increase is not organically possible. Nigeria's annual population growth rate is about 2.4 percent; and even if every person in the said Community turned 18 years old in the past two years and registered to vote, it still cannot produce 1,105 percent growth rate in a Polling Unit that had only 397 Voters at the previous INEC registration cycle. A Village will have to multiply 11 times in two years. Uromi is a rural Community in Esan Central, with no new Estate, Resettlement Camp, University, or major Federal projects, that would have triggered a mass relocation of at least 1,000 new households needed to accommodate 4,386 voting-age adults. By INEC's own standard, a Polling Unit is meant to serve a maximum of 750 Voters. At 4,783 Voters, this one Polling Unit now carries more than six times the threshold, and should have been split into six or seven Polling Units, and not retained as one.
