Replying to @pressgazette
It's ironic this has popped up, almost 10 years after I partnered with @pressgazette to warn about Facebook/Twitter dominance over the future of journalism's business models.
I also wrote this essay in Jan 2017, calling for more social media regulation. thelonggamenews.substack.com…

Elon Musk is mass deleting tweets like he's a Nazi burning documents in a fireplace at the end of WW II and it's funny because the internet NEVER FORGETS.

It's utterly pathetic the way BBC presenters like Victoria Derbyshire are told by BBC bosses to say to outspoken interviewees like Bernie Sanders things like "President Trump and his family would deny they are corrupt", or "The Israeli Government would deny they are extremist". It's gross over-reaction to Trump libel action against the BBC.

Apart from Middlesbrough, the championship table is looking very random after 13/14 games. Didn't see Stoke and Swansea in the top 6 nor did I think Burnley or Preston would be in the relegation zone
Fridges don't need to be connected to the internet. Go back to how it was.
BREAKING: 🇸🇪 Swedish grocery giant ICA, one of Sweden's largest supermarket chains, says several of its stores have been hit by a cyberattack overnight, causing refrigerators and freezers to be remotely set to 50°C.
The incident has likely resulted in large quantities of food spoiling. Multiple stores, including ICA Kvantum in Sjöbo and Tomelilla, have reported being affected.
ICA says stores will remain closed during the morning and are expected to reopen at 9:00 a.m. Swedish time.
The company has apologized to customers and says it is working to restore normal operations.
The incident comes amid a wave of cyberattacks targeting businesses recent weeks, following similar incidents reported in France and the United States.

Flights across Europe have been forced into emergency landings after a series of suspected bomb threats.
Eight planes, including three from the UK, have been affected in the past 24 hours.

Gone from fridges, to bitcoin, banks....bomb threats and now blood storage units.
Only question is- Russia, Israel or someone else?
Cyberattack on France’s national blood service (EFS) via its refrigeration contractor Coolworld. Hackers reset freezers keeping blood donor samples at -30°C to a target of 110°C. The thing that stopped it from destructive impact was an on-call technician who noticed the temperatures going up. Frozen plasma intended for transfusion was stored there too. Fortunately nothing was destroyed. This was a cyberattack on a sensitive layer of healthcare. From frozen peas to boiling plasma in three weeks...?
Preston nailed on relegation. So far, Derby have no signs of life. I've watched Cardiff on TV a couple times this season and they also look like a League One Side.

🗣️ "The level of coaching, I've not really seen anything like that before."
Paul Scholes was blown away after watching Fabian Hürzeler and his Brighton coaching staff put the players through their paces! 👏
Bale hat-trick in the San Siro was special. People sleep on Bale when talking about modern greats, but he was unbelievably good.
SIXTEEN YEARS AGO Today, #THFC beat Inter Milan 3-1 at White Hart Lane thanks to an incredible performance from Gareth Bale. 🤩🏴
Was this the best night the old stadium ever saw? 🤔🥹
Saw a job advert from a UK university for a course leader. Requirement was PhD minimum to run the masters degree. Salary was £38k to £42k. 🤯
Absolutely amazing to me that this is how much they value that job as. Can get more finger painting with kindergarten kids.
