An honour to share a bible reading in the ecumenical service at Llandaff Cathedral marking the Dedication of the Seventh Senedd. I joined colleagues from across the political spectrum and faith leaders from across Wales to pause, reflect and look ahead to this Senedd term.

🏆 It was a real privilege to present the Innovative Hybrid Teacher Award to Nicola Williams at the E-Sgol Awards. 📚 Teachers are the key to young people’s future success, and it was great to celebrate best practice and innovation for the future. #ESgolAwards #EducationAwards

Today’s Budget was an opportunity to deliver the investment Wales needs with a pro-Union Budget. Better roads. Faster, more reliable railways. Stronger defence and more skilled jobs. Instead, we have: ❌ Growth downgraded — next year’s forecast cut from 1.6% to just 1%. ❌ Debt continuing to rise — with billions being spent on interest payments instead of public services and infrastructure. ❌ Welfare spending rising — with growing costs from disability-related benefits and pensions, and more seven-year-olds claiming disability benefits than 50-year-olds. ❌ Recycled rail announcements — a railway station in Cardiff that was already planned, but no meaningful commitment to improving Wales’s wider rail network. ❌ No major Welsh road improvements — nothing for the M4, A40 or A55. ❌ Wales still missing out on its fair share of defence spending — and the skilled jobs and investment that should come with it. Wales needs investment that improves transport, strengthens our economy, supports businesses and creates jobs. We need delivery, not another round of announcements - @DarrenMillarMS

This afternoon, we need to see a pro-Union Budget that delivers for families across the UK securing: 🛣️ M4 relief road and upgrades to A55 🚂 Electrification of the North Wales Mainline ⛽️ Freeze in petrol and diesel duty ⚡️ Help with heating bills 🍽️ Support for hospitality 💰 Cuts to welfare to fund defence 💵 Tax cuts for working people @DarrenMillarMS

I recently hosted an event celebrating the launch of @NIAUK Jobs Map for Wales. I really enjoyed meeting with firms, experts and apprentices working within the civil nuclear industry. Fflint Wrecsam hosts 136 skilled jobs in the sector - I can’t wait to see this number grow.

Great to meet Rachel Jones from @RNIBCymru and her Guide Dog, Flick, recently in Wrexham. As we walked, I wore goggles simulating a visual impairment. After experiencing some of the everyday challenges for those with sight loss, I’ll continue to push for greater accessibility.

On Friday I was pleased to support Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink Campaign. Wear It Pink is now in its 25th year, and has raised over £45 million since 2002, going towards life-saving science and support for all those affected by breast cancer. #WearItPink #BreastCancerNow

Delayed! The 2028 Council Tax revaluations have been pushed back to 2032. The Welsh Conservatives knew this revaluation was a bad idea from day one, and we have always opposed this unfair tax hike. I’m glad common sense has finally prevailed! #WelshConservatives #CouncilTax

Last week, I met with the brilliant team at Bryn Darland Surgery in Coedpoeth to discuss the growing pressures facing our local GP practices 🩺 Half of GPs routinely struggle to meet demand due to chronic underinvestment. We need action now to protect our community GP surgeries.

Today in the Senedd, I stood up for our local hospices and palliative care providers including @NightingaleHH in Wrexham. I challenged the Health Minister for the funding certainty they urgently need, and I’m glad to say the motion passed unanimously! 🙌

I recently met with Cllr Chrissy Gee in Broughton to discuss recurring flooding, which hit the community in 2021, 2023 and 2025. I welcome progress by Flintshire County Council, but work must be completed swiftly to protect residents. #Broughton #Flintshire #FloodAction
