im honestly humiliated to post this but im really fucked financially. my mental health has been declining severely, i have been battling with psychosis and other things i feel too scared to get into. im in debt which is causing me to stress and decline even more. i can’t sleep or eat. i woke up after an hour in an intense panic attack im having as i type this. im sorry im not coherent here im in a really bad state i don’t feel like i can battle this hurdle my mental condition is already poor and this is causing it to worsen i cant get any sleep i fear the worst so im literally begging for help even if it’s not financially i need reassurance itll be okay
im literally living for my cats most of all i fear things continue to pile and escalate and get deeper in the hole and at this rate im not even in a condition to do anything to fix it I can’t calm down enough to do shit I can’t sleep I can’t eat im so tired of everuthing

Hey - I wanna be a little greedy and share something with you guys that I'm proud of myself for. ♥
Over the last 2 years, I have very diligently pursued a healthier lifestyle by eating healthier and doing consistent cardio/strength training - as a result, I have lost over 135lbs (~60kg)!!!
This week, I will be traveling to Brazil in order to prepare for surgery to remove a tonnn of excess skin from my torso/chest, as well as fix some abdominal muscle separation that I have as a result of being morbidly obese for the majority of my life until now. The surgery is scheduled for November 4th. I don't think it's fully hit me that it's happening yet, but I'm really, really excited!
I feel like I've become an entirely different person - not just the fact that I've halved in size physically, but emotionally and mentally too. Learning to develop and maintain a strong sense of discipline has helped me achieve so many of my goals. Achieving my goals has helped me gain confidence. Gaining confidence has helped me pursue things I would've been too scared to do before - like doing an IRL meet and greet for the first time earlier this year and finally getting to meet so many of you! Pushing myself to do things I was scared to do before has become an invigorating driving force for me, and I'm excited to see what other ways I can push myself for the better from here. I could go on endlessly about how much taking care of myself improved pretty much every aspect of my life in some way, but this is already getting wordier than I'd planned - oopsie.. 🥺
That all being said, there is one big, gigantic bummer - which is that as much as I *hate* taking time off from streaming, I will ABSOLUTELY have to do so; a few days leading up to the surgery for travel and surgery prep, and then at least 1 or 2 weeks after surgery, maybe more (but hopefully not), to focus on getting to a point where I can feel well enough to stream again.
I'll be able to stream one more time this coming Tuesday, November 3rd (the day before surgery), and then off I go for a bit. It's gonna suck not getting to hang out with you guys as much as I'll want to. 💔

STOP asking yourself if you have 'IT'.
'Natural talent', 'Innate charisma', 'Getting lucky in the algo' is BS.
"Natural talent" - Having parents and an environment that encourages your passion, giving you space to grow and practice every day.
"Innate charisma" - Being raised in a place where speaking is encouraged or trained, interest in extrovert activities, participation and positive reinforcement in social and performance situations.
"Getting lucky in the algo" - Hiring someone, imitation, taking classes, researching trends, hard work and understanding of what you are doing.
All of these are able to be acquired later in life, yes, someone who has been playing the violin since age 5 will surpass you in experience, but you can start today as opposed to 'next week' and be a week ahead of yourself.
Stop telling yourself you can't be who you want to be, by old wives tales. What better time is there to become who you want to be than now???
Having 'IT' is a lie. Anyone got what it takes, you have to acquire it yourself.
I was a shut-in who barely talked for a long time before becoming Lulu. Everyone around me told me it was 'too late' for me to jump into streaming, to be realistic about my situation, to give up before I even got to try. I am so so glad I did not listen to the 'work smarter, not harder, networking is the only way, all you can do is be a friend to a bigger streamer' crowd.
If you do not see someone who does what you do, then maybe that's the path forward that you were destined to walk.

Hi, I'm Lulu, full-time VTuber and VTuber manager (for fun). I saw a lot of discussion on the usual 'Male VTubers aren't interesting' rage-bait of the week, so let me weigh in.
1. Game/Topic Choice: The expectation for "what do I stream" VS "what I enjoy to stream" is very different for VTubers of all genders. You want high viewer numbers? You want to grow fast? The likelyhood of growing with just the one game, unless it's a high following game with nobody playing it are low.
Adjust your expectations if you are going into streaming with a high CCV or monetization goal, the games that will perform well are most likely not what you enjoy the most.
Alternate between what you enjoy and what gets you to your goal, find a good balance.
2. Target Audience: Marketing your content is a different kind of beast and it really depends on who you are trying to appeal to.
"People like me" - Who are those people?
"Likeminded people" - What are their interests?
You do not have to have one specific person in mind, but things such as age range, hobbies, interests, location have to be considered when you are trying to market to them.
Do you want big spenders?
Do you want people dedicated to a genre of game or series?
How does your content reflect who you are looking for, and where do you advertise to catch these people?
3. Gimmick: Are you memorable, what makes you stand out, what makes YOU clippable?
Can you watch back what you create?
'Regular guy who plays FPS' is not as searchable as 'Racoon Retro gamer', make your branding tagline searchable, memorable, and plug it. Make yourself stand out where you can, be it art style, specialty schedule, niche off-stream content.
You do not need to flirt or sell out, you just need to be memorable, so people can come back to you.
Lastly, know what you are going in for.
Nothing ruins dreams like vague expectations, set realistic goals and ideal goals, take small steps, and work towards where you want to be little by little.

So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.
