Absolutely inappropriate and deeply disturbing. There is no room for this kind of hateful conduct in our region
VIDEO: Halloween may be over, but one Langley teenager’s costume is now stirring up controversy online. Cecilia Hua has more on the reactions, and how the boy’s mother is standing by the decision. vancouver.citynews.ca/video/…
My family chose for me the middle name David, after my Jewish uncle who died in the trenches in World War I. I am proud to wear a poppy in his, and others', memory.
Sadly, Selina continues to use edited and out of context screenshots to defame me.
The many sides of @seanorr - have a look.
He might wear a poppy but he seems to disrespect the sacrifices of my Jewish grandfather who was part of the Canadian military sent overseas to stop the Nazis.
The Jew hate is real.

Outgoing Mayor’s Chief of Staff Lands Job at VPD
City Coun. Lucy Maloney, one of three incumbent councillors re-elected to council in last month’s municipal election, told The Tyee she was surprised by Ford’s hiring given the former ABC-dominated council’s close relationship with the police department.
“I think the optics of the VPD receiving a very large amount of funding from the city council while Trevor Ford had so much influence, and then Trevor Ford being given a job, I think that it’s troublesome.

We got your back, New York!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026).

The so-called “radical leftist” Sean Orr just received more votes than any candidate in Vancouver's history.
Don't worry, folks. I've never met someone who genuinely cares more about people than Sean does.
I have no doubt he'll work tirelessly to make Vancouver a better place for EVERYONE.
That's not radical, that's leadership. ❤️

David Eby is responsible for this.
Conservatives got less votes than last time and still won.
Plus the theory that the Green Party were wreckers when they delivered new voters is pathetic

The punks keep winning....municipally, anyway: The councillors who won the most votes in both Vancouver and Burnaby this month have both fronted hardcore bands.
Spoke with DOA's @DOAJoe and @seanorr of NEEDS about punk and politics theglobeandmail.com/culture/…
The Conservatives didn’t win as much as the NDP lost. The Conservatives got 50,000 less votes than 2024. Both the Vancouver and provincial election show a rejection of neoliberalism and that people want bold system-change ideas, not milquetoast centrism.

We're still counting up our receipts and building our reports for Elections BC.
But there's something we know for sure. We spent less than $400k to elect the whole COPE team.
Meanwhile, Ken Sim and ABC spent at least $2.5 million. They elected one.

ALT Black-and-white photo of COPE candidaets with fists and arms raised, celebrating. Below it, a bar chart compares campaign spending: a tall lavender bar labelled “Ken Sim & ABC, $2.5M~” next to a short red bar labelled “COPE, <$400K.” Beside the bars, red text reads “People power beat big money.”

Nothing because these questions are not binding and also don't make sense even if they feel good.

The drugs are ALREADY BANNED. How do you ban them twice? What a complete waste of money that plebiscite was.
Vancouver voters overwhelmingly opposed to open-air drug use

if you live in vancouver-yaletown, please please please vote BC NDP, even if you need to plug your nose to do so. it’s a super tight riding and only the BC NDP can stop the conservatives there.
