I think that it’s possible and desirable to remake society into a democratic and ecological one where the masses control their own destiny and are not ruled over by the rich and powerful
Even better would be striking a deal that preserves the meaningful differences here.
The BCNDP runs unopposed in every riding that they've held since 2017. The Greens run in every riding unopposed that they've held since 2017, unless it is currently occupied by the BCNDP.
Poll shows two-thirds of BC NDP voters support merging with BC Greens

There is a unique situation in BC politics right now that could create a path towards proportional representation. Every political bloc has a reason to consider it:
The fact that the BC Conservatives came close to securing a majority of the popular vote demonstrates that right-wing governments can absolutely govern under a proportional representation system. Proportional representation doesn’t prevent conservatives from governing, like some right-wingers like to claim online. It ensures that parliament accurately reflects the will of the electorate & governments reflect a majority of voters through parliamentary democracy.
Lorne Doerkson has publicly stated that proportional representation is not off the table and that he is open to hearing from constituents on the issue. I hope he will take meaningful steps toward Proportional Representation as the Premier-elect of British Columbia.
Not trying to pour salt on any wounds, but I was thinking about this today in comparison to the people's primary. In both cases, it looks like a sort of obstinance towards a collaborative approach backfired majorly, and I hope it's a lesson that is taken seriously in the future.
Maybe this is obvious but it just struck me as very funny that David Eby could have made a deal with the Greens to keep the Legislature for 2 more years instead of losing

It's been an historically remarkable weekend as British Columbia elects its first conservative government since 2013.

Only 48% of BC voters supported the BC Conservatives, yet the voting system has handed Lorne Doerkson's Conservatives 69% of the seats and 100% of the power.

There's a silver lining to every cloud, and the silver lining of this cloud is BC is freed of David Eby’s extremely bad political instincts

Dave Barrett asked if we were “here for a good time or a long time” and Dave Eby chose neither
Polls can give you an idea of the situation but sometimes different people show up at different ratios
Do the NDP ground operations function effectively when a lot of organisers were waylaid with the municipalities? Does the extremism and grotesqueness within the conservative caucus make centre-right motors stay home?
Got a few more rare Siavashes from the archive. Check it out!
British Columbia has all the ingredients to thrive.
But after 9 years of NDP decline, everything costs more, housing is out of reach, and wages have stagnated. People are leaving.
I’ve spent my career advocating for the economic opportunities that make a good life accessible to all, and making sure British Columbians can put down roots, grow their families, and retire comfortably.
Tomorrow, vote @Conservative_BC
