Just a few hours ago, President Trump said in the Oval Office that I should be tried in court because I dared to talk about the corruption coming out of the White House. If I've learned one thing from this past year, it's that you have to push back. I'm not going to be intimidated out of standing up for the rule of law and the country that has given me everything.

Michigan's autoworkers can compete with anybody on an even playing field. The Chinese government’s state-subsidized car companies are the definition of unfair — they use cheap labor and abuse the international trade system to dump their products around the world. We cannot hand the U.S. auto market, and the hundreds of thousands of jobs here in Michigan, to our adversaries. wlns.com/your-local-election…

I served three tours in Iraq alongside the military. I was a CIA officer and a Pentagon official. President Trump’s threats of further military action in Iran won’t bring us any closer to ending this war.

It is our responsibility to ensure that Michigan’s firefighters and front-line responders have the resources they need to keep our communities safe. @SenGaryPeters and I welcome $700,000 in federal funding for local fire departments in Muskegon, Ross Augusta, Marengo Township, Norton Shores, Hudsonville and across the state. We’ve worked in a bipartisan way to secure this essential grant funding. These dollars will help departments purchase new fire hoses, air tanks, a brush truck, vehicle exhaust removal systems, and personal protective equipment for new cadets — providing firefighters with the equipment they need to protect Michiganders every day.

Some people leave behind generations of people who are better because they knew them. Coach Jim Bibbs was one of those people. I had the honor of attending his memorial service at Jenison Fieldhouse at @michiganstateu to share a few words about his incredible life. Coach Bibbs was more than a legendary track and field coach — and the first African-American head coach in the Big Ten. He was a mentor, a trailblazer, and the kind of leader who saw the best in people and inspired them. And he was generous with his time for all who knew him, including me. It was a privilege to join his family, friends, former-student athletes, and the Spartan Community to celebrate a man who meant so much to so many. Coach Bibbs will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the athletes, families, and Michiganders whose lives he touched.

When Ukraine suddenly lost access to Elon Musk’s Starlink technology, Sen. Elissa Slotkin knew he wasn’t acting alone. As a former CIA analyst, she isn’t buying the lies. She knows Trump was behind it.

I think in the last two weeks it's become very clear President Trump wants Putin to win this war, and he's taking steps to allow them to sell oil to fuel their war machine, to disrupt Starlink and to show the Ukrainians where his hand actually lies I think that's a huge strategic mistake.

There’s a clear playbook when it comes to myself and @SenMarkKelly, James Comey, or anyone else the President doesn’t like. He tries to intimidate and weaponize the government against them. We have to push back.

While I’ve been traveling across Michigan, folks are asking me questions about our upcoming midterm elections and voting. Let me be clear: Michigan’s elections are safe and secure. They're run by the state and our localities –- not the President. Michiganders, to find your local clerk, learn where you vote, check your registration, and track your ballot if you vote absentee, visit the Michigan Voter Information Center (michigan.gov/vote). Another great resource is MichiganVoting.org, which provides registration and voting information. Thank you to everyone who has signed up to be a poll worker and help Michigan's elections run smoothly: michigan.gov/sos/elections/p…

Last month, I sought assurances from our nation's top military and civilian leaders at the Pentagon that troops will not be used to interfere in our midterm elections—and that any order to do so would be illegal. The law is clear: our military has no business interfering in our elections, policing polling places, or handling ballots or voting machines. Now, @SenMarkKelly and I are seeking answers about the Pentagon's vaguely defined National Guard "reaction forces," created to respond to "civil disturbances." We want to make absolutely sure these forces will not be used to interfere with our elections in any way.

Friendly reminder: agriculture is the number 2 industry in Michigan, after manufacturing. And we’re the number 1 most diverse agricultural state in the country (meaning lots of different kinds of farms, not just row crops) with regular access to water!

I recently had the opportunity to speak with @oaklandu students in an academic class focused on September 11, and share my firsthand experience of being in New York that day. 25 years later, it’s more important than ever that we share these stories with young people who were born after 2001. Not just the tragedy and heroism that we saw on that day, but the way the country came together in the weeks that followed. It’s something that we’re missing today, but that I’m grateful I know we’re capable of.

Michigan has lost about 12,000 manufacturing jobs in the year and a half since the president has taken office.

This shouldn’t be complicated. If you break the law or abuse taxpayer dollars, you should be held accountable.

Thank you to all the students who gave me the grand tour of @LawrenceTechU architecture and engineering programs. They’ve got everything here from concrete canoes to a chamber where they test the impact of extreme weather conditions on bridges. The students I spoke to are passionate about their projects, and are learning skills that will directly translate into the workforce. Our toughest problems are going to need bold solutions, and I have no doubt these students will be able to deliver.

This is not the first time this president has tried to weaponize the justice system against me. At his direction, earlier this year, the Department of Justice took me to a D.C. grand jury to have me criminally indicted for sedition. If President Trump had his way, I'd be in prison. Thankfully, an anonymous group of Americans, whom I will never meet, voted unanimously that all I was doing was exercising basic free speech. So I know from experience, when it comes to weaponizing the government, the president says what he means, and he means what he says.

When you say something President Trump and his allies don't like, they run a play to intimidate you and to get you to shut up. It's not going to work. We can't let it.
