A Hampshire couple have been fined £600 and ordered to pay a further £6,000 in costs for allowing their 14-year-old son to work on the family's mobile food trailer.
Dexter, their son, enjoys it and has a passion for it.
That’s typical of the laws in this country. Encourage the work shy and penalise the hard working.
As if the stress on this family weren’t enough the family said they were tackling the dispute with the council while supporting eldest son Oskar, 17, while he received treatment for blood cancer.

Helen Miller, director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), described the UK'S outlook as "depressing," warning that the 2020s are tracking to be the worst decade for household income growth on record.
Household income growth is the primary engine of UK economic expansion, directly fuelling consumer spending, which accounts for approximately 60% of total UK gross domestic product (GDP).

This puts into perspective. You can see average income growth over a 60 year period. This decade by the far the worst. Even worse than in 2010s which, at the time, were the worst in post war history.
Alphabet currently stands as Berkshire Hathaway's third-largest U.S. public equity holding. Warren Buffett, even though he stepped down, he would have a say in these big deals.
They recently invested $10bn at around $350 a share.

Here's the real story of this Budget, the can being kicked down the road. This Labour government is apparently planning spending cuts on most areas of public service spending of 2.6% per year between 2028-29 and 2031-32.
Pull the other one. It's got bells on.
The AI Sell-Off Isn’t Over: Watch For The Canary In The Coal Mine - podcast.
audioboom.com/posts/8968714-…
A severe structural timeline mismatch is emerging between ordering chips (under one year), building warehouse shells (two years), and securing high-voltage power connections from utilities (5 to 10 years).
Because AI processors rapidly depreciate within three to four years, idle capacity burns massive capital.
Hyperscalers such as Meta, Alphabet, Amazon, and Oracle are turning free cash flow negative as capex outpaces operating cash flow, turning to expensive debt issuance.
The canary in the coal mine sits with over-leveraged neo-clouds stockpiling GPUs and hardware makers vulnerable to sudden order pullbacks.
Brent Crude Oil Futures at $117. The third highest price paid this year.
Rumours of renewed offensive against Iran is one of the reasons also lower global oil reserves and China hoarding stocks.
These are the companies laying off people citing AI for the reason and the amount of people they are making redundant. Most of lay offs have happened or will happen this year. I don’t think this is the end of it.

This is the spread between French and German Bonds.
It's blowing out. Normally this spread is between 0.5% - 0.8%. It's now shot up to 1.7%.
This is a parabolic repricing of French sovereign credit risk. This crisis / intervention zone.
France’s Bond Yields have gone up by 150 bps since the start of the year and 485 bps since 2022. France’s annual debt interest payment is approaching €65 billion.
If debt interest payments were a government department it would be the most expensive apart from National Education but it’s close to becoming the most expensive department.
Their debt to GDP is now 116% way above the euro area average of 88% and far beyond the Maastricht target of 60%.
The 1992 Maastricht Treaty set out economic and fiscal benchmarks designed to ensure economic stability and discipline among European Union member states.
John Healey has reportedly drawn up plans for a tax raid on family businesses ahead of his first Budget.
If this is true, it’s just another example of Labour punishing some of the hardest workers in the UK to fund the ballooning welfare bill.
This is basically taxing the most productive parts of the economy to fund the most inefficient. It’s another policy that weakens the UK's economy.
It’s a tax on growth and undermines entrepreneurial motivation. If they do this, they will get trounced at the next general election in favour of any party that recognises and rewards hard work @JohnHealey_MP @andyburnham
