The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department was proud to host the annual Cops for Kids Fly-In. This event was organized by the Riverside Police Department and held at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
Alongside surrounding law enforcement agencies and aviation divisions this special event brought more than just toys. It brought hope and unforgettable moments to children who are unable to leave the hospital.
Thanks to the generosity of our community and everyone who contributed to our toy drive, we were able to bring a little extra joy to children and families facing difficult times.
Today was all about bringing smiles, joy, and a little happiness to children and families at @LLUChildrens Hospital. When their days are filled with uncertainty, medical tests, and difficult news, even a moment of happiness can mean the world.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of this incredible event, bringing the law enforcement family together for those who need it most.
A heartfelt thank you to the @RiversidePolice for coordinating this event, along with all the agencies and volunteers who made today possible. Special thanks to @StaterBrosMkts Charities for their generous $20,000 donation to Cops for Kids and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Aviation Unit for raising over $21,000!
Today was a reminder that serving our communities goes far beyond the badge. Sometimes, it’s simply about bringing a smile to a child’s face.

Thank you to Assemblymember Michelle Rodriguez (@AsmMRodriguez ) for bringing together law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS professionals on National First Responders Day. We appreciate your advocacy for first responders throughout the Inland Empire.
Tonight, we gathered to honor and remember a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Deputy Andrew Nunez was more than a deputy. He was a protector, a husband, a father, a son, and a friend.
As we stood together in solemn remembrance, we reflected on Andrew’s courage, his dedication to duty, and the many qualities that made him so special to each of us.
His sacrifice will never be forgotten, and his legacy will forever live in our hearts.
John 15:13
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
We will never forget you, Andrew.

I appreciated the opportunity to attend yesterday’s City of Hesperia State of the City and highlight the progress being made to improve traffic safety and address public safety concerns in our community.
Through increased enforcement, traffic citations have declined by 29%, while fatal collisions have decreased by 23%. These results reflect the importance of proactive enforcement and our continued commitment to protecting everyone who travels on Hesperia’s roads.
Hesperia’s Gang Enforcement Team has also recovered 81 illegally possessed firearms, made 78 arrests, and recovered more than 11,000 gallons of stolen fuel. These efforts are another reminder that proactive enforcement protects not only our residents, but also local businesses, equipment, and livelihoods.
Thank you to the City of Hesperia for the invitation and continued partnership in keeping our communities safe.

One year ago today, Deputy Andrew Nunez made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting our community.
Not a day goes by that we don’t remember his courage, dedication, and the sacrifice he made.
My heart and prayers remain with Andrew’s family, friends, and fellow deputies as we continue to honor his life, his service, and the legacy he leaves behind. When you’re later, our promise remains the same. We will never forget.
@RanchoPD
I was proud to see another full class of concerned citizens taking the necessary steps to obtain their concealed carry weapons (CCW) permits.
I am a strong supporter of our Second Amendment rights and believe responsible, law-abiding citizens should have the ability to protect themselves and their families.
My hope is that none of them ever face their worst day, but if they do, they will be better prepared to protect themselves and those they love.

It was an honor to attend the San Bernardino County Farm Bureau’s 109th Annual Dinner, where we paid tribute to the late Chuck Hills.
Chuck was a tireless advocate for our local citrus industry and agricultural community, serving as Farm Bureau president for 11 years. His dedication and contributions have left a lasting legacy in San Bernardino County.
I’m also grateful that members of our Rural Crimes Task Force were able to attend and join in celebrating the rich agricultural heritage of our county and the hardworking men and women who help sustain it.

It’s always a pleasure connecting with our retirees, and yesterday was no exception!
I had the opportunity to share updates on the latest technology our department is using to solve crimes more efficiently, enhance public safety, and keep our communities safe.
Our retirees helped build the foundation of this great department, and I always appreciate the opportunity to reconnect, share our progress, and thank them for their years of dedicated service.

Congratulations to Sgt. Wallen, honored by the @calsheriffs with the Medal of Valor for his decisive actions in using his vehicle to stop the suspect responsible for Deputy Andrew Nunez’s murder in Rancho Cucamonga.
Deputy Nunez was also awarded the Medal of Valor posthumously. I was honored to accept the award on behalf of the Nunez family. We continue to honor Andrew’s life and service, and stand with his family, friends, and colleagues.

On October 10 and 11, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Work Release Program (WRP) conducted a community cleanup along Summit Valley Road in Hesperia.
Participants removed two 40-yard dumpsters worth of trash and 30 abandoned vehicle tires, helping improve the community while fulfilling court-ordered service.
The Work Release Program provides an alternative to incarceration, allowing participants to give back to their communities while maintaining employment, continuing their education, and supporting their families.
This successful cleanup highlights the department’s continued commitment to community partnerships and service.

⚠️ Making Our Roads Safer!
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has been awarded a $935,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to enhance traffic safety throughout our communities.
This funding will support increased enforcement, DUI checkpoints, and educational programs focused on reducing speeding, distracted driving, and impaired driving.
Our goal is simple: prevent collisions, save lives, and keep our roads safe for everyone.
