Welcome Melanie Wang to the Shiu Lab! 🎉 Melanie, our high school student trainee, plans to pursue a pre-med track. She has begun her training under the mentorship of our 2026 Haumana OʻPasifika Scholar, Tianna Starr. Great to see mentorship passed from one trainee to the next!👏

Attended my first Kava ceremony🌺 & welcomed Tianna, a 2026 Haumana Scholar, to our lab. Tianna is a recent BME graduate from UC Davis.🎓One of the most rewarding parts of science is mentoring the next generation of researchers. Looking forward to working with her this summer!🔬
