🚨 ISLAMIC BLASPHEMY LAW BY THE BACK DOOR 🚨
Kellie-Jay Keen (@ThePosieParker) has been charged with a criminal offence over posts criticising Islam, Muslim cultural practices and Islamism.
The Free Speech Union is proud to be defending her.
In a free society, no religion or cultural practice should be immune from criticism.
Since Labour came to power, the number of FSU cases involving people penalised for criticising Islam has doubled. It is now the single biggest category in our casework.
And now, with a state-approved definition of Islamophobia — rebranded as “anti-Muslim hostility” — things are only getting worse.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Communities Secretary Angela Rayner met Muslim community leaders in Downing Street. Burnham took a swipe at critics of Islam, saying “some of the language” opposition parties use “is unacceptable”, and told the leaders “we need to find ways with you to demonstrate that more and more”.
We now await Rayner’s appointment of an “Islamophobia tsar” who will help enforce the definition.
All five hand-picked members of the Working Group that drafted it have concerning links to Islamist organisations, as FSU Research and Policy Director @DavidRoseUK exposed in his report. We have little hope that the appointed tsar will be good news for free speech.
Meanwhile, the Government is refusing to say who submitted responses to the Working Group, so we cannot know which groups shaped the definition. Islamists may well have had a hand in its drafting.
Support the FSU’s campaign against an Islamic blasphemy law — and the people penalised under it 👇

An odd little stool turns up one day, all unbidden, and seems to have a mind of its own. Can its new owner makes sense of the chaos it unleashes — or is it best, really, just to accept it?

Patriots! 🇬🇧🇮🇱 After a battle in 1943 an RAF plane was terribly damaged and so was the pilot, Flight Sergeant Arthur Aaron with his jaw and lungs severely wounded. The navigator dead, he continued to direct the crew using pen and paper and the badly damaged plane landed safely. Aaron died hours afterwards. He’d already won the DFM and in death received the VC the highest accolade for bravery. He was a British and a Jew.

It's truly incredible that you can have a man burning a book & another man attack him with a knife & yet the man burning the book gets prosecuted & fined whilst the man attacking with the knife is spared prison. Clearly it's no longer legal to burn a Koran in Britain. Is that OK?

Just been told about the fascinating appearance of breakfast show star Mike Graham at the wedding reception of Richard Tice and his bride Isabel Oakshott.
Mike arrived late at The Shard at London Bridge and, according to fellow guests, was already over-refreshed.
On Tice beginning his speech Mike fell into a slumber. Tice does have that effect but not normally at the beginning of the oration.
Reform’s No.2 finished on a rousing note and this woke Mike up who then decided the guests should hear his glowing views on Tice and his bride.
So, he grabs the microphone and begins to speak in what some felt was a version of Latin. Very hard to decipher.
David Bull, Reform’s former chairman, thought Mike was lowering the tone of the event - how this was possible with a roomful of politicians, journalists and Rebekah Brooks is hard to divine- and tries to grab the microphone.
Mike fights him off, so in the middle of the room a wrestling match is now going on with Farage telling colleagues ; “Mike’s out of control.”
Difficult for Farage to be too censorious as on occasions he has been in the grip of the grape .
Anyway, a now irritable Mike beats off Mr Bull for the microphone but the effect of his exertions means he’s lost his thread and he lays down the mike.
On reverting to his chair Mike is accosted by another guest displeased by the Latin oration and another bout of physical unpleasantness breaks out.
Then it’s time to leave and for Mike, a matter of hours later, to prepare himself for his enormously successful breakfast show on UK Live.
How he does it all is quite beyond me.
