Silent Hill fans! ICYMI The decomp project to port the original Silent Hill to PC has a fully playable build and it's fantastic! I played through the entire game last night and enjoyed every moment of it (I do own the game on PS1 in case that comes up). There are new camera angles, including over the shoulder and first person, along with new modern control schemes. You can map your own button layout with keyboard/mouse or controller. The HD textures look incredible. You can even add a mini map now on screen! Here's some clips from my gameplay of it. I will say that the new cameras and controls make the combat incredibly easy now. These enemies were not made for modern combat controls. But man did it feel great. It took some tinkering with the settings to get it right where I wanted. There are a ton of options to customize the experience. You can also quick save anywhere now. But the quick saves DO count toward your total number of saves at the end. There's also Retro Achievement support. There's a number of camera filters to choose from as well if you want a more retro look. There's so much more to it than what I've talked about here. So check it out. Here's a link to the website. sh1pc.com/. #silenthill #horrorgame #silenthillremake #silenthillpc

Remember that feeling of running to the next room after flicking off a light switch in hopes of beating the darkness? Or before the monsters hidden within it can grab you? That feeling has been turned into a video game by InqDrop Studios (@colorthebooks), and that feeling is captured rather well. Flick starts you off in a dark room. So you've already lost that race. But there's a light switch right above you. Flicking it on illuminates the room. But it doesnt quite look how you thought it did while it was dark. It's full of furniture that you're sure wasn't there before. Flick the light again. The room changes. Now it's empty except for a small desk with a child's drawing. Do you dare flick it again? What else may change? What is that figure in the darkness? Just a trick of the mind, or something sinister waiting for you to step out of the light? This game grabs hold of those primal, childhood fears and takes you for a ride. The demo is short but it certainly leaves an impression. The entity stalking you from the dark is silent and terrifying, only giving you glimpses of it's withered form. The fear of the unknown quickly closes in. It uses light and dark for puzzle solving, which gives way to all sorts of uniqe puzzles. Searching for clues involves turning the lights off and on to see what changes in the room and collecting the pieces while you can. It's a bit easy to start feeling a little overwhelmed with all the changes. But the rooms start to cycles after a few tries, giving you a bit of structure to grasp onto. But then that cycle changes after you find a clue and that anxiety starts over. This demo shows a ton of promise. The Dev boasts 10 years of AAA game dev experience, and it certainly shows in this short piece. I look forward to seeing how the rest of the game plays out. See the comments for a link to my playthrough of it. #Flick #HorrorGame #IndieDev #IndieHorror #IndieGame

Content creators & horror fans, make yourself known! Especially if you like religious horror and games like P.T. and Visage. 💀👹 I'm looking for new creators to send early keys to for my upcoming horror game - inspired by my own fears of turning off the lights at night!💡😱

We Are Sisters from BobaGames is a short horror experience where we play as a dude searching for another dude.... Apparently, Aleks likes heading off on adventures to explore places he probably shouldn’t. This time, he didn’t come back. So naturally, we head into a secret underground facility that we just happen to know the entrance to. And judging by some of the dialogue, we don’t even seem to like the guy all that much. But here we are, risking our life for him anyway. Aleks had better appreciate this. The gameplay is mostly walking sim territory, with some puzzle-solving along the way. There’s also a short stealth section that I found more awkward than tense, but it did help break up the pace. The “sisters” come into play later on, taking the story somewhere much darker than the opening suggests. What starts as a search for our questionable buddy turns into something a lot more disturbing. The ending is intentionally ambiguous, so make of it what you will. Despite a few awkward moments, I enjoyed We Are Sisters for what it was—a short horror experience with a darker story than I initially expected. I couldn’t find BobaGames on X or YouTube. If you know their @ handle, drop it in the comments! #WeAreSisters #BobaGames #IndieHorror #HorrorGames #indiedev #indiegame

#indiedev #solodev #IndieHorror #PSX Hey! 👋 While I was making "My Little Summer" - the small PSX horror game, I faced a burnout problem! But I'm glad to share that I have passed it, and now I'm going to finish it. However, I haven't found any players for it yet!

When a priest goes medieval on your ass! Well, "former" priest. Anhedonia (@Anhedonia_Game) introduces us to Edgar. That former priest with a fractured memory and unforgiving hands. As Edgar, we explore a dark gothic fantasy world full of zombies and cultists that need Jesus. And we're setting up the meeting. The demo felt like a mix of Elder Scrolls and Diablo, if Diablo was in third person. The controls are very responsive and felt great with mouse and keyboard. My only complaint on the combat (and maybe I just missed it?) was the lack of a "lock on" when fighting. Dodging usually resulted in my facing away from the enemy, delaying righteous judgment. I'm also hoping for a variety of weapons. A priestly mace with spikes would certainly deliver a message of salvation. We pick up all kinds of materials that are useless for the demo, but hints at some crafting mechanics later. Not sure whats happening with the story. We see brother explode and a woman possessed. The ending warns "he's coming." But who "he" is can only be guessed. I'm guessing its not the second coming of Jesus it's talking about. It looks very promising and I enjoyed my playthrough of the demo, even if death sent me all the way back to the start (which reminds me, checkpoints?). I also believe I read somewhere that it's just a two man team behind the game. Check it out now on Steam. #indiegame #indiedev #indiehorror #indierpg #survivalhorror youtu.be/IaeO5OGjkyM?is=ygVL…

Taking a break from horror this weekend for some Final Fantasy Resonance. This is the kind of JRPG I've missed. Enjoying everything about it so far. Seeing the old characters again in a nice treat. Anyone else playing it? #FinalFantasy #FinalFantasyResonance #JRPG

Not My Son finally has a new release date - November 5. It’s a short psychological horror about a stepfather left alone with his wife’s disturbing son. If you want to support a solo dev, a wishlist or repost would mean a lot. #indiegame #gamedev

Was able to play the demo for Psycho Dead by @MoonCatalyst_pr after the latest update. It ran awful on my setup last time I tried it. But they've put in the work to get it running smooth! We play as Elixia. A young girl that wakes up in a lab with a fractured memory and deadly psychic powers. Our main goal is to escape the facility she finds herself in. But, of course, there are monsters in the way. The monster design is pretty good, especially "Ripper," who looks like a big organic android thing with a saw blade arm. He's scary but kinda badass looking. Resources are scarce but Elixia has options. You can switch quickly between firearms or her Psycho powers to attack with. She even gets a handy psychic shield that can stop bullets. The controls are great, making the swaps quick and easy. I played with an xbox controller. There's also another psychic girl running around that we get glimpses of, who seems way more bloodthirsty than our sweet but deadly Elixia. The game kind of reminds me of Galarians from the PS1 days, which I loved. The combination of psychic powers with firearms is really cool and they make it work well. So far it's shaping up into a fantastic action horror game. The latest demo is available on Steam. #indiehorror #actionhorror #indiegame #indiedev #horrorgame #psychodead youtu.be/B0saujohe1c?is=sbx0…

Dreadshell demo by @HolomanStudio stops right when it's getting good! The tone and atmosphere of this game makes me think of the underground Umbrella facilites in the original RE1 and 2. Which is certainly not a bad thing. The enemy looks like a mix of Slenderman and Holface. We're sent to investigate why a drilling operation has lost contact and stopped operation. We quickly find out why. Now we gotta get it running again so we can get out! Check it out on Steam. #indiegame #indiehorror #indiedev #horrorgame #dreadshell this better come with hazard pay | Dreadshell DEMO youtu.be/tTG-KjM74Co?si=s2gw… via @YouTube

Astrophobia is a slow burn cosmic horror by @cosmicarcadepro. It has some cool visuals with wide open areas and some creepy, bug like monsters. It doesn't rely to heavily on jump scares. It's more of a mystery horror. The story unfolds thru radio chatter as you explore an alien base on the moon. I enjoyed exploring the area and putting the story together. #indiehorror #indiegame #indiedev #horrorgame youtu.be/Yor39gFwU8M?is=lzE9…
