Here’s @thesaudicup winner Emblem Road when he was sold by @SouthPointSales as a @keenelandsales September yearling. Mating planned by the late, great Mike Recio. Missing him a little extra today.

🔹"I have to commend Mike Recio, unfortunately he passed away this year, as an advisor to us, Espresso had finished 2nd in the stakes as a 2YO a couple of years back. He pointed out that her dam was in the sale and we should buy her. She was in foal with Venti at the time..."
My @nytbreeders story on Venti Valentine (@CrestwoodKY Firing Line) has been updated with some quotes from @GoFinalFurlong's Vince Roth about VV, her half-sis, her dam, and @SouthPointSales Mike Recio that you won't want to miss.

Have to give my girl @LipchainNeeded major props. She stepped up big time to run the consignment at these last 3 major sales & did a fabulous job in Mike’s honor. Congrats to whole South Point team for forging ahead in a difficult time

The South Point team was dealt a brutal hand trying to make up for Mike's sudden absence on the fly ahead of FT Saratoga and grieving his death during #KeeSept. The strength @LipchainNeeded showed in guiding the consignment to multiple successful sales was truly commendable.
