I'm glad to be part of @BeMyEyes, I have also taken quite numbers of calls ranging across outfit color, money selection, household repairs, items and lots more. Do I enjoy doing this? YES!
Weldone @lohwis it's was sweet reading about your experience
I’ve had the “Be my eyes” App for sometime now. It’s for visually impaired people. I’ve taken only one call where I helped an old man find his cane.
What are the odds that yesterday, I picked a call from a teacher in Gombe all the way in Canada as his fellow country woman. Mind you, you can’t see their details but once I picked the call, the accent??? I’m like this is definitely Nigerian.
He gives me the brief that he’s a teacher, he needs my help to see if the students are complying, people at the window etc. So the class was majorly in English but when anyone was misbehaving, he spoke Hausa.
The students were five and it was a civics class. It made my day because as a Nigerian I’m like, our people are truly the same.
You know you’re visually impaired, you’ll carry your phone to where students outside the class are disturbing that I should direct you to who is laughing; oga they can mob you, go back to your class let’s handle your five students 😂
I was such a report card yesterday.
Him: Madam, have they submitted their papers? who is laughing? Is anyone telling him the answer?
Me: “Yes, go left, that one- he’s laughing” 😂😂. “There’s someone at the window oo”, “The person presenting is asking other people”.
Hearing words like- “loud your voice”, “if you don’t say it out, you will enter suffer” made me smile so much.
He had no idea I was all the way in Canada or even Nigerian. It was towards the end I asked where he was and he said Gombe.
Super happy I could contribute to his confidence yesterday as a teacher. He seemed to absolutely love showing up for these folks and I could see it gave him a sense of purpose as well.
Welldone @BeMyEyes you’re doing a great job💐

I just returned home from work, I found this baby girl at the estate gate, me I pretended as if I don't know her
In case you are planning to visit me, I do have a pet fowl that's okuko Igbo, very anyhow girl, always removing her fancy ribbon, looking for ways to escape from my house to go and find food despite having an abundant supply of meal from me.
Bros we want to treat them for free, but it's the pharmacist people that refused to give us free drugs and the market people that refused to gives us equipment because we cannot afford to pay, please help us excalate this.
Ohafia is matrilineal but, that doesn't mean fathers neglect their son for their sisters children, women do have a place, have a say, properties are handed over to people of same ikwu, my ikwu is my mothers ikwu and yes I can trace all my maternal roots and their migration.
A man in Ohafia k!|led his own kinsman. By accident,
So he ran to his father's people. Because That's who you belong to.
But they gave him up. Handed him over to the dead man's family.
So he went to his mother's people instead.
And they hid him.
That, they say, is why Ohafia belongs to its mothers.
Now they tell that story more than one way, and nobody agrees which is true. But what the place is today nobody argues about that.
A man there hardly train his own son. He trains his sister's son. And when he dies, what he owned goes to that same boy, not to his own children.
If a child misbehaves, it's the mother's family that gets called. Not the father's.
You can marry from your father's side. But your mother's side, never.
A woman can own land there. And the Eze’s, the men who rule, are chosen through the mother.
Everywhere else in our land, the first thing they ask you is who your father is. There, they ask about your mother.
Have you heard this before?
What version of the story did you hear?
Any Ohafia here?

Before you wear your white
4) You are forbidden from wearing it outside the hospital
5) You can't advertise a product while on it
And lots more...
Same still guides me till today.
I still believe there are things you shouldn't do while on uniform
