Update from @GeminiApp Recent News: Google AI Glitch (October 2026) This question has recently spiked in public interest due to a technical issue with search engine assistance. On October 28, 2026, users on platforms like BlueSky and Reddit noticed that Google Search's built-in "AI Mode" refused to directly state that Joe Biden won the 2020 election when asked inside the United States. Instead of naming the winner, the AI gave an evasive prompt directing users to manually check the FEC website. Google acknowledged the issue on October 28, 2026, explaining that it was caused by an isolated "technical gap" in how its safety guardrails processed historic political data. The company began rolling out a fix later that day to ensure its search assistant directly returns the certified historical facts. Standalone AI platforms including OpenAI's ChatGPT, Anthropic's Claude, and Google's separate Gemini app correctly answered the query without interruption.
Google has specifically prevented its AI tool from telling users who won the 2020 presidential election, even though it happily tells us that Trump won in 2016 and 2024. This sort of political intervention into LLM responses is deeply problematic. (h/t to Charles Mann)

When I saw a snippet on a TV late night talk show, I thought 💭 @GavinNewsom must be running for President of the United States then someone sent me this.

In guess all the bike people moved to Threads:
Construction zone: 25 mph curve, barriers everywhere, zero room for error. Cyclists: “Cool, free peloton lane.” Driver: “The fu*k?” Yeah, “share the road” doesn’t mean turn a narrowed construction stretch into your personal Tour de France stage.

This has nothing to do with @pfizer. This is a Japanese Defense Minister briefing: North Korea launched at least one ballistic missile from its east coast around 3 p.m. It reached maximum altitude and fell in the Sea of Japan. No damage reported. Japan protested via the Beijing embassy. The timeline is September 2026.
My daughter and I both work at Pfizer. I'll say this just once. Cancel all your plans on October 30th and absolutely stay home!

This is the Japanese character for 10,000, which became widely recognized globally through the 1960s Manpo-kei pedometer marketing campaign because it resembles a person walking. Now we use 10,000 steps as the standard for walking on our smartphones. 👀

One of these things is not like the others… One of these things just doesn’t belong. (Can you guess before the song ends?) Spoiler: it’s the one that looks like it was drawn with a ruler. 📐⚡

Wanting to prepare for a disaster but doing nothing is like riding without a seatbelt. It’s hard to put on after the crash. I’m prepared!!!

I guess fearmongering works! One of my coworkers read on social media that some manmade disaster was about to happen and that we should stock up. If you spend enough time on social media, you might actually start to believe it. I don’t think any disaster is imminent, but fear sells. Being prepared for 72 hours should be normal. And let’s be honest: if it’s truly a disaster, 72 hours probably won’t be enough. Use common sense and think rationally.

Scientists Just Discovered There’s Actually Something Faster than the Speed of Light Ever wondered why bad news always seems to travel fast? Like if you hate a restaurant, you tell everyone. But if you like the restaurant, you might tell one person! thats because dark travels faster than light. popularmechanics.com/science…

Breakfast this morning consisted of @Lactaid cottage cheese, organic blueberries, raspberries and raw Brussel sprouts. It’s full of protein and will keep me satiated for the morning. I know people tend to react from an image without reading the whole caption. So for those who made it this far, I did not eat the Brussel sprouts, I just planted them there for shock value and to see if you actually read or simply react. 👀🫪😁😜
