Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney delivers a blunt message to Russia: “You cannot bomb Ukrainian cities and then send your junior players to Alberta to play hockey as if you were civilised people. No Russian or Belarusian teams at the World Junior Championship. Not under your flags. Not under any other flags. Period.”

On this day in 1993, Joe Carter hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to win the World Series for the Toronto Blue Jays at Skydome. They defeated the Philadelphia Phillies four games to two. It was the second-straight World Series title for the team. 📸 Hans Deryk
A jubilant Joe Carter in a white and blue uniform with "Blue Jays" written on the front leaps into the air with both arms raised, celebrating with a teammate who is also raising his arms. The scene takes place on a field with a large, excited crowd in the background.

What a career. Local sports news matters and Martin was the only one still covering it consistently and with excellence. Congrats!

🐼 Is there a better way to celebrate Day Two of #OUAWeek than at the Panda Game with 24,000 students, fans and alumni? Joined Minister @nolanmquinn to watch the @uOttawaGeeGees take on the @CURavens in a nail-biting, sold-out game. The biggest event in @OUAsport with a history dating back to 1955 and the highest attended in all of @USPORTSca — if you want to see the impact university sport has on a community, look no further. Congratulations to the GeeGees on a thrilling win!

My eyes were wet from start to finish. I thought of being little in a big world & watching my son's first tries at this mad game. ESPN's Open to the NHL season is beautiful. I didn't expect to cry today-this is stunning. There's nothing like this sport. We at ESPN love the sport as you do. ❤️ Enjoy.

Love this. North side sold out. South lower + upper sold out. Club seats remaining! (Comfy seats, cleaner washrooms, shorter bar lines!). Sunday’s @OUAsport @USPORTSca @uOttawaGeeGees @CURavens Panda game will be the best attended sport event in #ottcity 2026.

Bienvenue à Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, cher voisin @MarkJCarney ! Moment historique.
