There was a mad woman in my area around 2019. She had been living around our street for almost two years. Nobody knew her real name, where she came from, or what had happened to her family. Some people called her Mama Trouble. But there was something about her that made everyone uncomfortable. She had a baby. A little baby girl, probably not more than one year old. Nobody knew who the father was. Nobody knew where she gave birth. Nobody even knew how she managed to keep a baby alive. But strangely, the baby was always clean. The baby's clothes were always neat. Her face was always bright. And whenever the mad woman was shouting at people, she would suddenly become quiet if the baby cried. She treated that child like gold. Sometimes, at midnight, you would hear her singing lullabies. But there was something very strange about those lullabies. She always sang the same words in Yoruba: "Sleep, my daughter, sleep. Don't let them know you are still here. When the morning comes, we shall become strangers again..." People laughed whenever they heard her. Until that unforgettable morningโ€ฆ.

I once had a friend who was so obsessed with having an elaborate wedding. He would always say, โ€œIโ€™d rather not have a wedding at all than have a low-key wedding.โ€ Last year, he got married, and indeed, the wedding was LOUD! I mean, a BellaNaija kind of wedding. The kind of wedding where you would think the couple had secured generational wealth. Everything was top-notch: the venue, dรฉcor, outfits, aso ebi, food, drinks, entertainmentโ€ฆ absolutely nothing was done halfway. A few months after the wedding, however, something interesting started happening. The same guy who just had a โ€œtalk of the town weddingโ€ began randomly calling us, his friends to ask for quick financial assistance. Sometimes it was 50k, other times 100k. And the requests kept coming At first, we thought it was just one of those temporary financial challenges everyone experiences. But as time went on, I couldn't help but notice the ironyโ€ฆ..

The sad irony is that the people who attended the wedding went home with beautiful memories, while the couple had to deal with the financial consequences. Sometimes we spend so much preparing for one day that we forget the years that come after it.

Iโ€™ll never understand borrowing millions just to impress people for one day. A beautiful wedding means very little if youโ€™re struggling to pay for it afterwards. Iโ€™d rather have a simple wedding and a peaceful marriage.

Everything was fine until you checked ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
In 2021, during my NYSC in Ondo, I rented a cheap self-contained apartment. I felt lucky for securing such apartment in that area for the price I did. Everything seemed fine until about a month after I settled in, I started hearing someone showering in the bathroom around 3 a.m. Every morning, I checked, but the floor was always dry. This continued for about a week then, one night, I decided to stay awake and watch. At exactly 3:07 a.m., the shower turned on by itself. I rushed to the bathroom and saw a woman standing in front of the mirror, facing the wall. Before I could say anything, the light went offโ€ฆ..

Sometimes, I get a content idea or see something I want to talk about, but finding the right way to put it so people can relate to it can be difficult. Eventually, I just drop the idea.

First encounter I had was when my girlfriend came over, we slept and when she woke up in the morning she asked me why I took her panties off and I told her I didnโ€™t touch her, I ignored such and soon my business started failing, I had issues at my workplace and ran into debtsโ€ฆ

I don't know about other men, but once a woman cheats on me, there's no way we're continuing that relationship. I can forgive only from a distance, but nothing is ever bringing us close together even as friends again. My ex girlfriend who cheated on my since about 5 years ago, I still haven't forgotten about it. We don't even talk, but whenever I see stories that reminds me of what she did, resentment continues to grow in my heart. I just cannot deal, please. Above all, love God.
BRO TO BRO Never go back to a woman who cheated because once a woman betrays your trust, she's no longer the same woman you fell for. She's been touched by another man's spirit and that energy never leaves. You can forgive her, sure, but your soul will never rest around her again. It's not about lust, it's about disrespect. A man cheats for pleasure, a woman cheats for replacement. She's already imagined life without you, already buried you in her heart before she laid with another man.

The irony is that he prioritised a single day of luxury over long-term financial security, leaving him broke just to impress other people.

He eventually opened up to us that he had borrowed about 15 million from several sources to fund his wedding and his lenders are now on his neck to repay. To make matters worse, his wife who is an instagram baddie is now showing signs of infidelity because he cannot keep up with his responsibilities You spent so much money trying to impress people who came to celebrate with you for just a few hours, and now you're calling those same people to bail you out financially? Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely nothing wrong with asking friends for help when you're in need. Life happens, and nobody is above financial struggles. But this got me thinking: At what point did we become more concerned about the appearance of our celebrations than the financial reality of our lives?
