Today, Russia expressed its thanks for the lifting of sanctions on diesel exports by dropping five glide bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia. As of now, sadly, twelve people have been confirmed killed, including three children. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Another fourteen people have been injured, and two of them are in critical condition – the doctors are fighting to save their lives. The status of twelve more people who may have been there is still being verified. All emergency services are at the scene, and search-and-rescue operations are underway. Overnight, thirteen of our regions came under attack. Residential buildings, infrastructure, and railway facilities have been damaged. Last night confirmed once again that in Russia, they take any easing of pressure to mean they can keep fighting, to mean they can keep dropping bombs on cities. Different signals are needed. Russia must understand that it needs to stop the war, and for that to happen, Russia must feel its losses. Right now, it is our long-range capabilities that are ensuring this. And we will respond to Russian strikes. I thank everyone who is helping.

And I don’t even know what to write anymore when I see numbers like this. Because what is there left to say that hasn’t already been said thousands of times during this war? People were in their homes. Kids were sleeping.l and now they are dead because ruzzia sent another attack into another Ukrainian city. And yes, today is putler’s birthday. Quite a birthday present for a man who has spent years bringing exactly this to Ukraine. Dead people, dead kids, destroyed homes and families who will never be the same again. Tomorrow there will probably be another statement about how “deeply concerning” this is. Maybe even “unacceptable.” And life outside Ukraine will continue. But for the families of those 14 people, it won’t.

Sad to hear of the death of Neil Sedaka. When I was five years old I drew piano keys onto a cardboard box with crayons & pretended to sing and play like Neil Sedaka. Loved his music. Here’s my musical tribute to a music legend.

“At one of the stabilization points where we delivered aid for the last time, we found two evacuated boys. One of them had been brought in with completely charred facial burns. In his ears – dried blood. His eyes were gone – solid burned-out tissue. The most terrifying part – he was conscious. He kept asking about his platoon. Then about his mother, over and over. The doctors quickly began treating him, inserting IV lines and giving injections. But he kept calling and calling for his mother. Then he went silent. The next evacuee was a civilian. A grandmother with her grandfather. As the soldiers said, they were traveling with a small cart. In several bags on it, they had packed their whole life: a few photo albums, documents, a couple of coats, a headscarf, and the grandfather’s tools. A tied box was attached to the cart – inside was their cat, because they couldn’t leave him. And next to the cart ran their dog, also theirs. They couldn’t evacuate in time. When the soldiers reached them, they said there were burned old photographs scattered all around and the remains of everything they had packed. Only the grandmother survived. Already at the stabilization point, they told her that the rest of the family had died after a drone strike. The grandmother fell silent. Doctors provided assistance. She had shrapnel wounds, but they were not life-threatening. During transfer to the next stage of evacuation, they didn’t manage to bring her there. The grandmother’s heart stopped. From grief, the medics said. Because she had also stayed behind in her thoughts beside that cart destroyed by a drone. It was only one hour at the stabilization point.
