The Danger of Stopping Prayer: Lessons from St. Teresa of Avila
If you’re ever tempted to stop praying, remember the powerful story of St. Teresa of Avila.
Convinced she was bad and unworthy of God, she stopped praying for 15 years. The devil had convinced her that she was acting out of humility. Instead, this decision led her to become more sinful and less worthy of God. She later admitted that it nearly brought about her ruin.
You will never be worthy of God if you stop praying. This is the powerful lesson that St. Teresa of Avila learned. She thought she was being holy and humble by giving up on prayer, but in fact she was playing right into the devil’s hands.
When we pray, we don’t pray because we’re worthy of communing with God. We could never be worthy of speaking to Him, let alone receiving His very body in the Eucharist! And yet, this is a beautiful reminder of how deeply Jesus loves you and the profound humility we are called to imitate. He does not only associate with those who are “worthy” of Him.
In the Gospels, we see Jesus freely associating with sinners of all kinds, while strongly condemning the “holier-than-thou” Pharisees. He wishes to speak to us even though we are not worthy.
So never stop praying. Come to God exactly as you are, broken, imperfect, and in need of His grace. That is where His mercy meets us most powerfully.

When Columbia University's anti-Israel student group posts "Death to America" on social media it is time to disband the group, kick the students out of school cutting off any federal help they are getting, deport any of the group who are not American citizens and make clear that we will not tolerate people in our country who believe in “death to America.” We do not have to be passively suicidal. We can and must protect our great country.

When I was in Minneapolis, I heard a number of crazy stories. But near the top of the list:
A couple of off duty ICE and CBP officers were going to dinner in Minneapolis. They were doxed and their location revealed, and the restaurant was then mobbed. The officers were locked in the restaurant, and local police refused to respond to their pleas for help (as they've been directed by local authorities). Eventually, their fellow federal agents came to their aid.
This is just a taste of what's happening in Minneapolis because state and local officials refuse to cooperate with immigration enforcement. They have created the chaos so they can have moments like yesterday, where someone tragically dies and politicians get to grandstand about the evils of enforcing the border.
The solution is staring everyone in the face. I hope authorities in Minneapolis stop this madness.

A recent analysis shows Yale University faculty donated 98% of political contributions to Democrats, with no professors donating to Republicans at all. The absence of any ideological minority highlights how elite academic institutions have drifted far from the political reality of the US electorate. What Yale calls diversity now excludes half the country by design.
Carlos Eire, a professor of history and religious studies, said there is almost no intellectual diversity at Yale or most universities when it comes to politics, adding that academics in the US, Canada, and Europe have leaned left for three or four generations with no sign of reversal anytime soon.
ALT A recent study found Yale University’s faculty now sends 98% of its political donations to Democrats, with zero professors donating to a single Republican candidate. Not one. The result is total ideological uniformity at one of America’s most influential universities. This comes in a country split roughly evenly between Republicans & Democrats, exposing how elite academia no longer reflects the nation it claims to educate.
