Why This Is The End Of The World's 2nd Largest Country
Mike Werry and Mira Metter, the filmmakers behind Broken Country, join Marty to break down how Canada went from the strongest middle class in the world to a cautionary tale for America.

Canada has been on a steep decline for over a decade and Mira and Mike produced @BrokenCountry_ to highlight just how far the country has fallen.
Don't think for one second that the US can't suffer a similar decline. We may already be on the way.

Having $1 million in Bitcoin is different from having $1 million in anything else.
$1M in real estate: property tax, insurance, maintenance, tenants.
$1M in stocks: earnings, c-suite, disruption, constant monitoring, etc.
$1M in Bitcoin: 12-24 words, valid forever
Wealth you must maintain is a job.
Wealth you can memorize is ultimate monetary freedom.

“That was almost a million dollar bill. And the crowd funded that with no problem.”
The number one question I get as a @crowdhealth member is what happens with a catastrophic bill. Here's @andyjschoonover with the answer. Open enrollment opens Sunday.

It is completely insane to subject yourself to paying for health insurance when @crowdhealth exists.
I pay $725 per month for a family of five. We’ve been members since 2021, have had two babies, multiple health events, and couldn’t be happier.
We’re paying less than $10,000 a year and never have a problem. Free yourself from the extortion of health insurance and become a member.

The beauty of the Crowd is that it creates a free market by filling the gap between two broken options:
Health insurance supposedly "protects" people from big bills (although it often doesn't), by transferring the risk to a third party, it removes any reason to care about price, which is a major reason costs keep climbing.
Going uninsured keeps people price conscious, but it leaves them exposed to catastrophic expenses.
CrowdHealth combines the two: community support for large, unexpected costs, with members who keep ownership of their own healthcare decisions and the tools to make those decisions well.
We believe putting ownership back with the individual is the only way to bring real consumerism, and real cost reduction, to healthcare.

.@pkedrosky: the Mag 7 drove almost 45% of S&P 500 growth over five years. Something like 55% of the index is now tech. More than half of Americans own stocks.
Your "diversified" index fund is a concentrated AI bet.
Bitcoin is the diversification. Today's Commoner.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed.
Bitcoin miners don't consume energy,
they channel the energy into digital units and exhaust heat.

Lovely.
A hacker is actively attempting to breach the US Federal Election Commission's systems, forcing the agency to temporarily shut down all web-facing services one week before midterms, according to an email reviewed by Reuters.
The FEC confirmed its electronic filing system is currently offline and IT staff are working to restore service. The agency's website remains down.
While the FEC regulates campaign funding and enforces campaign finance law, it does not administer elections. Elections are run at the state level.

I think this has the opportunity to be a catalyst for the next adoption wave.
Bitcoin backed lenders should be competing to drive down rates below HELOC rates as quickly as possible.
Once that happens Bitcoin is going to become irresistible for a large swath of capital.
Good to hear Marty is seeing more competition in Bitcoin lending.
Now let's see whether borrowers get quoted better rates!

Our mission is to “Legit love our members”
Compare our customer reviews to any health insurance company or Healthshare and we will win.
Why do we focus so much on customer satisfaction?
40-50% of our customers come from existing customers.
If we treat our members well they’ll tell their family and friends. The member gets $250 and their referral gets a discount.
The Crowd grows and your prices drop.
Total economic alignment between company and customer.
Also, if you’ve have ever met our people face to face, you know it goes beyond the economics. You can’t fake it. We have an incredible group of people who truly care about you and your families.
