In a transformative riverfront infrastructure initiative, the state has initiated the development of world-class riverfront promenades along both banks of the Hooghly River:
🪷Dual-Bank Marine Drive Concept: Taking inspiration from Mumbai’s coastal promenade, the project will integrate riverbanks across Kolkata, Howrah, and Chandannagar into vibrant, continuous civic riverfronts.
🪷Connecting Riverfronts to the City: Overcoming past decades of civic negligence that left ghats isolated and unkempt, the new design will create scenic walking promenades, illuminated ghats, recreational green spaces, and organized civic amenities.
🪷Chandannagar Heritage Front: Chandannagar Municipal Corporation will restore and expand its historic riverfront stretch, blending French heritage preservation with modern waterfront tourism infrastructure.
🪷Proposal Sent to Centre: Agnimitra Paul already stated that The UDMA dept. has already shared the proposal to Centre as it's a long term plan

A formal complaint has been filed against Neha Bora (AISA) @neha_aisa before the SHO, Sansad Marg Police Station, New Delhi, concerning her sweeping public statements alleging that women are raped inside temples by pujaris.
Such reckless and sweeping allegations against an entire community of religious functionaries have the potential to create communal disharmony, promote enmity between groups and disturb public tranquillity.
Freedom of speech is a constitutional right, not a licence to make irresponsible and inflammatory statements. Those exercising this right must remain within the boundaries prescribed by law and be held accountable for their words.
She has to understand her limitations, and freedom of speech is not absolute.
No one is above the law.

We should remember this forgotten hero.
According to the 1941 Census, Noakhali district was approximately 82% Muslim and 17% Hindu. When the horrific anti-Hindu violence broke out in October-November 1946, this man stood firmly against the tide of terror.
He was Rajendralal Raychaudhuri, the zamindar of Karpara village in Noakhali. He mobilised his armed retainers, including Nepali guards equipped with firearms, and personally took up arms to defend Hindus against the attackers.
But he was more than a zamindar. He was the president of the Hindu Mahasabha in Noakhali, a prominent advocate in Bengal, and a follower of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
In a district where Hindus were a vulnerable minority, Rajendralal Raychaudhuri was their protector and a pillar of strength. He repeatedly used his influence and resources to defend Hindus against Islamic persecution and intimidation.
Yet, his contribution has largely disappeared from public memory, neglected by the secular and communist politician in India and West Bengal.
If we remember Gopal Mukherjee for his role in defending Hindus, we must also remember Rajendralal Raychaudhuri. His courage and sacrifice deserve a rightful place in our history.
