West Bengal’s Communists killed around 55,000 people while in power. This statement was made by Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee in 1998.
While in power, they brutally suppressed anyone who operating within the democratic manner.
When in opposition, they set trams on fire, vandalised roads, destroyed public property, and committed murders, all in the name of democracy and class struggle.
And when they lost power and were forced out of office, they suddenly started shedding tears for democracy, endlessly whining about the BJP being “barbaric” and “fascist” day in and day out.
They should not be treated within the ethics, constitutional norms, or democratic conventions. Instead, they should be eliminated in the Maoist or Stalinist manner.

Someone mocked West Bengal, claiming without Kolkata, it would be no different from Bihar. There's some truth to the underlying concern. We need wealthy Bengali NRIs worldwide to invest in Siliguri and Durgapur, reducing Kolkata's pressure and transforming these cities into major commercial, financial, and technology hubs in North Bengal and Rarh Bengal.

I think CPM will come second in the KMC elections. Both Mamata's and Ritabrata TMC will also gain influence in certain pockets.
Many are criticizing of former TMC members' applying for candidacy under the guise of being old BJP.

Despite making up ∼29% of Assam’s population, Bengalis have contributed immensely to the state. NE’s only chess Grandmaster and the winner of the “Oscar of Physics” are Bengalis. Most of NE’s scientists and high achievers are Bengali. Whatever positive reputation Assam has is largely because of Bengalis.
