I, Munazza Siddiqui, demand that the federal and provincial governments immediately ban the manual entry of sanitation workers into sewage gutters for cleaning and unclogging. This is an assault on human dignity and a violation of basic human rights. Replace this dangerous, degrading practice with modern machinery, proper equipment and strict safety measures. We have the money, we have the machinery. So what are we waiting for. End this inhuman practice. For God's sake, choose humanity over hypocrisy. Digital #Pakistan means nothing if we cannot guarantee basic human dignity.

Developing child-friendly medicolegal clinics and establishing a coordinated Child Protection Case Management Referral System are significant steps towards ensuring that vulnerable children receive compassionate, ethical and professional care.
The principle of “First, Do No Harm” must guide every intervention.
Protecting children requires more than good intentions; it demands a well-coordinated system, trained professionals, accountability and a child-centred approach.
It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a robust, ethical and accountable system to keep one safe.

It has indeed been an honour to develop my Child-Friendly Medicolegal Clinic model and launch two in Karachi with the help of UNICEF. Presented my model at the 1st National Conference on Child Protection at the University of Child Health Sciences, Lahore and now sitting with the Stakeholders in Sindh to chalk out a safe and cohesive Child Protection- Case Management Referral System #CPCMRS.
This referral system has a Child Protection Officer ensuring the best interests of the child in a warm and dynamic ethical pathway and keeps the principle of First, Do No Harm at the core.
It may take a village to raise a child, but it takes a well-oiled system to keep one safe.

ان بھائی صاحب نے لاہور کے علاقے مزنگ میں چلتی روڈ پہ ایک لڑکی کو موٹر سائیکل سے نیچے گرایا. ٹھڈوں سے مارا اس کے ناک کی ہڈی توڑ دی. یہ موصوف جب اس لڑکی پر تشدد کر رہے تھے تو وہاں ایک ہجوم تھا جو تماشہ دیکھ رہا تھا. سوچیں ایسے ذہنی مریض اپنے گھر کی عورتوں کے ساتھ کیا سلوک کرتے ہوں گے. حوصلہ ہے ان جیسے نفسیاتی مریضوں کے گھر کی عورتوں کا. اب یہ پولیس کو بتا رہا ہے کہ اسے نہیں پتہ تھا کہ سکوٹی چلانے والی لڑکی ہے اندھا تھا. ہمارے معاشرے میں عدم برداشت کا فقدان ہے چلیں کسی سے کوئی چھوٹی موٹی غلطی ہو بھی جاتی ہے تو اگنور کر کے آگے بڑھ جائیں. لیکن یہاں تو ہر دوسرے انسان نے اپنے اندر ایک چھوٹا موٹا غنڈہ پال رکھا ہے. جو عورتیں سکوٹی چلا رہی ہیں ہمیں ان کی حوصلہ افزائی کرنی چاہیے نہ کہ مار پیٹ. اور دوسرا اب ہر کیس سی سی ڈی کا نہیں ہے اس کے لیے پولیس کے پنچ لتر ہی کافی ہیں #scootygirl #mazanglahore
