Yesterday's #NORDSummit panel on Closing the Gap in Precision Oncology with @ACSCAN, @ChildrensNatl, and NJ Senator Troy Singleton (@Troy4NJ7) explored the policy solutions and patient advocacy needed to expand equitable access to testing.

In our #NORDSummit panel, Closing the Access Gap in Precision Oncology, our panelists highlighted the power that #biomarker testing has for #cancer patients and how too many people lack access to it. The science is already here, the problem is affordability and access.
NJ State Senator @Troy4NJ7 explained how #NewJersey passed a law requiring #HealthInsurance coverage for biomarker testing. This must be a #HealthEquity model for other states to follow, and about half of states so far have.

In honor of #RareCancerDay, NORD's Rare Cancer Coalition (RCC) brought the voices and needs of the rare cancer community to policymakers at both the federal and state levels.
From meeting with congressional offices on Capitol Hill to engaging with Rare Disease Advisory Councils (RDACs), RCC members advocated for policies that can advance rare #cancer research, strengthen access to treatments and care, and improve outcomes for people living with rare cancers.
