Europe should propose one addition to this great plan to make it even more groundbreaking and historic: in exchange for Russia ending its war against Ukraine, America should offer Russia Texas - as a confidence-building measure and a contribution to lasting peace. Trump has already lost Texas to the Democrats, so what difference does it make whether Texas is governed by American Democrats or Russian “democrats”? Surely, a statesman prepared to reshape Europe’s security architecture according to Putin’s wishes would welcome the opportunity to make his own territorial contribution to this great bargain.
President Trump today advanced an important discussion with several European leaders about the need for a broader European security architecture that can help establish the conditions for lasting peace. Building on his leadership and the substantive work undertaken this week in Brussels with Ukraine, NATO, and our European partners, @SEPeaceMissions and I wanted to share some of the objectives guiding our ongoing discussions. For more than 30 years, Europe and Russia have struggled to establish a sustainable security framework. Decades of mistrust, competing security concerns, and the devastating consequences of this war make this an extraordinarily difficult challenge, but one that is essential to lasting peace. Our objective is to develop practical arrangements that address the security concerns of all sides, reduce the risk of future conflict, and create a more stable and predictable security environment. We are exploring five principal goals: permanent security consultations, reliable crisis communications, greater military transparency, reciprocal measures to reduce escalation risks, and an enduring framework for long-term European security and stability. Any arrangements must fully respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independent decision-making of every nation. Each country will retain authority over its own security and alliances, and no country would have a veto over another’s sovereign choices. NATO will remain central to European collective defense, and this initiative would build upon existing institutions and commitments. We will continue consultations through the Shell Bay format with Ukraine, NATO, the EU, and our European partners, expanding engagement to ensure that all relevant perspectives and ideas are considered. We will also engage Russia as part of the peace negotiations. Next week in Abu Dhabi, the United States will convene the first trilateral peace discussions with Ukraine and Russia since February. All parties remain intensely engaged in preparing for substantive and productive negotiations. We will consult closely with our European partners on the sidelines and, if progress is made, aim to move toward a broader multilateral format with their direct participation. These ideas continue to evolve, and we welcome thoughtful input. Creating the right structure will be critical to ending this war and transitioning from conflict toward conditions that make possible a durable peace. This is difficult, detailed work. There are no easy solutions. But the opportunity to help end this devastating war and build a foundation for a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous Europe for generations to come makes it a challenge well worth undertaking. We will see how these discussions develop and continue working intensively with all parties toward President Trump’s objective of a comprehensive and lasting peace.

“The most embarrassing and morally horrifying spectacle“ after Alaska
TWO PICTURES TO DESCRIBE THE DYSTOPIAN WORLD WE ARE LIVING IN‼️🇷🇺🇺🇸🇺🇦 One of the most horrifying spectacles we are witnessing: human suffering turned into a celebration for the cameras. In the first picture, US-sanctioned Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev presents the First Lady with a drawing, reportedly from a Ukrainian girl supposedly said to have “chosen” to be evacuated to Russia. He represents Vladimir Putin, wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes involving the unlawful deportation and transfer of Ukrainian children. Yes, you read that correctly. A Ukrainian child taken to the country invading her homeland, presented as a heartwarming story by the representative of the man wanted over the deportation of Ukrainian children. In the second picture are the mothers and grandmother of Oleshky, whose children with disabilities were abducted by Russia in 2022. At Emile Foundation, we worked alongside their relatives to trace them and establish their locations. We know who they are. We know where they are. Yet despite repeated requests, Russia refuses to return them. Four years later, these families are still waiting. Still pleading. Still holding photographs instead of their loved ones. Is this the new world order? The aggressor celebrated as a saviour while the families of those it abducted are left behind? After Alaska, I consider this the most embarrassing and morally horrifying spectacle yet. A ceasefire turned into a carefully staged public relations show, while families continue to suffer. Where is the shame? Where is the humanity? Watching this, I see human lives pushed aside for publicity, political trophies and awards. Officials congratulate one another while mothers beg for their children. And then you wonder why you lost the elections. Americans have empathy. They care about human lives. That includes Republicans who refuse to associate themselves with this shameful spectacle. You cannot expect people to abandon their humanity out of political loyalty. Look at these two pictures. Then tell these mothers what, exactly, they are supposed to celebrate.

Altering the population of an occupied territory is a war crime and a crime against humanity
Over 12 years of occupation, Russia has systematically altered Crimea from the inside out, settling an estimated one million Russian citizens on the peninsula while displacing locals. 🧵 1/6

Replying to @yana_lantratova
@yana_lantratova has stolen Ukrainian children and facilitated their forcible deportation to Russia. Ukrainian authorities have charged her over her role in kidnapping vulnerable toddlers from the Kherson Regional Children’s Home during Russian occupation. This is a heinous war crime.
In Washington, D.C., I attended the press conference of US First Lady Melania Trump @FLOTUS at the White House. The event was dedicated to the outcomes of the humanitarian mission in Oleshky coordinated by the First Lady. Every human life matters to us. Our continued cooperation is a chance to save more people and keep helping those in need.

It is inconceivable that $400 million in appropriated military assistance still hasn’t been delivered to Ukraine. I urge the Pentagon to secure the delivery of this essential equipment right away in order to save lives, protect civilians, & help bring about the victory that must be this war’s end. hoyer.house.gov/media/press-…

Terrible optics. No Ukrainian official should be made to stand alongside war criminals while Ukrainian territory is occupied & terror is unleashed on civilians @ZelenskyyUa @andrii_sybiha
Beyond tragic. Ukrainian delegation is forced to stand by the russian war criminals who represent the terrorist state responsible for kidnapping Ukrainian children, killing civilians, and attempting to genocide the entire nation. I understand that Melania wants to earn brownie points. But you don't do it at the expense of an already suffering victim. Shameful and despicable.

Despicable character
Republican U.S. Representative Victoria Spartz lost her seat in Indiana's 5th Congressional District to Democrat J.D. Ford. She vetoed Ukrainian aid from America. America vetoed her.....

Oh, but we were told it was all Zelensky’s fault
Asked about Vice President JD Vance's view that Republicans lost control of the House and Senate because of the conflict with Iran, President Trump told CBS News' @Weijia Jiang it's "largely true" because the war drove up the price of gasoline. "If I had to do it again, I'd have to do it again, because, long-term, it's the only answer," the president said, adding, "You can't let Iran have a nuclear weapon." Trump said he believes the Iran war was worth losing control of the Senate. He clarified that he does not believe the war itself is to blame for Republicans' losses, but the price of gasoline. cbsn.ws/4efWMob

A Network of 21 Million Followers: How Bloggers and Pro-Russian Resources Fuel Anti-Mobilization Sentiment in Ukraine As revealed in an investigation by Texty.org.ua, this network uses high-profile conflicts to discredit mobilization as a whole, portraying military recruitment centers as "criminal organizations" and avoiding service as "heroic resistance." Among the narratives being spread are claims of the illegality of mobilization, the "enslavement" of Ukrainians, the supposed inevitability of death for those mobilized, and calls for armed resistance. 🔹 A striking example is the incident in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka on November 2nd. The dissemination of such stories is picked up by pro-Russian sources. They present individual incidents as evidence of "repression" and a general crisis in Ukraine, and attempt to transform public outrage into calls for protests against mobilization. 🔹 Part of these narratives aligns with Kremlin talking points about "Zelensky's slaves" and a "police state." The goal of such information campaigns is to undermine trust in mobilization processes, exacerbate hostility towards the military, and exploit internal divisions within Ukrainian society to benefit Russia.

Russia used 9 aerial bombs to kill 40 Ukrainian gathered to receive humanitarian aid. More than 30 people may still be under the rubble. The world’s relative silence is deafening 🤦🏻‍♀️
Search and rescue operations have now been underway for three days at the site of the Russian strike on a school in the settlement of Komyshuvakha in the Zaporizhzhia region. The Russians used nine aerial bombs. They first struck people who had come to receive humanitarian aid, and then first responders and police officers who arrived at the scene. All necessary services are involved. It is an extremely difficult operation, very challenging, and it is being carried out under virtually constant threat of new Russian strikes. As of now, 40 people have been reported killed. Unfortunately, some bodies have not yet been identified. My condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed. More than 30 people may still be under the rubble. Unfortunately, there has been very little reaction from the world to this insane attack. But it, like thousands upon thousands of other war crimes Russia has committed against Ukraine and Ukrainians, demands a strong response. Evil always goes further if it is left unanswered. We count on a response – Ukraine needs air defense support right now. I am grateful to the partners who are taking such steps.

The talk about European security guarantees for Ukraine may satisfy some egos in some European capitals, but to give Ukraine an empty promise, and to base a US strategy on that, is dangerous and profoundly unwise.
Is this from The Onion?

Would you dress your child in a Nazi uniform? Hitler met his end in a bunker. Nazis were defeated, horrendous crimes exposed and condemned. Germany examined that history, paid reparations and atoned russia is attempting genocide in Ukraine RIGHT NOW. Imagine dressing your child in the uniform of an army murdering other people’s children TODAY.

Ukraine needs interceptors NOW
UPDATE!! The U.S. Patriot PAC-3 announcement comes with a major caveat: these are new missiles, with deliveries not expected until after 2030, sources tell me. It does little to address Ukraine’s urgent interceptor shortage ahead of winter 1/3

Each Ukrainian civilian murdered by russia symbolizes the death of the free world order 🤦🏻‍♀️
While Europe promises to stand with Ukraine without taking consequent action, and the US stands with Russia by handicapping Ukraine’s defenses, Russia continues to target and murder Ukrainian civilians every day. Each one also symbolizes the death of the free world order.

How many times must this be repeated? russia will continue its mass crimes until it is defeated. Ukrainians don't need condolences, but weapons to destroy russian military bases. Let’s stop repeating the fanciful mantra about a “just and lasting peace.” Diplomacy leads nowhere.
Thank you for your condolences, António. Today, Russia carried out cynical strikes that claimed the lives of 19 people. Another 71 people were injured, including 11 children. Dozens of those wounded are now in hospitals. Our medical professionals are providing care and doing everything they can to save lives. Once again, Russia is showing its true attitude towards de-escalation and the efforts by Ukraine, the United States, Europe, and our other partners around the world to end this war and stop the killings. Of course, support from the EU and every EU Member State is extremely important to us right now. We deeply appreciate all the assistance you are providing. We must further mobilize our joint efforts ahead of this winter to ensure that Ukraine has the necessary capabilities to defend itself against Russian missiles and drones.

What a crazy time we live in. In 2022-26, there were thousands of cases of Russia using chemical weapons. And… RU is running now for Executive Council of Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). It’s like Jack the Ripper running for London Health Board.

Hoping that @FLOTUS will reassure us that Ukrainian civilians will be free to leave Oleshky for nearby non-occupied Ukraine. If not, there’s nothing humanitarian about what’s going to happen.
DOCUMENTING OLESHKY Four American journalists from Newsmax will be on the ground in Oleshky, embedded with Russian and Ukrainian humanitarian leaders. Serving as neutral observers, they will independently record and permanently document this historic humanitarian mission.

That’s about it. Those three (Xi, Putin, Trump) are attempting to shape a new world order in order to control resources and power over the rest of the world
Se, että Orbán on ehdolla YK:n pääsihteeriksi, kertoo koko järjestön rappeutumisesta ja ajautumisesta 🇺🇲🇨🇳🇷🇺 hallintaan.
