It’s devastating to learn that Dr Cal Horton, along with their immediate family, is fleeing the UK, driven out by the relentless tide of transphobia. Cal isn’t the only one: Dr Beth Upton and Dr Victoria McCloud have also been forced to seek a better life elsewhere. The UK’s decision to host IDAHOT in May now rings hollow. The UK is not safe for trans people - it's a tinderbox of hate, discrimination and segregation. When a family uproots everything to move halfway across the world, it’s usually to pursue a dream. But in a raw, deeply moving essay titled "Leaving the UK with a heavy heart" on the blog Growing Up Transgender, Cal reveals a far harsher reality. Relocating to Australia isn’t a leap toward new adventures; it’s a forced exile. Cal’s experience echoes that of countless parents of trans children who aren’t chasing opportunity, but are compelled by sheer necessity to protect their child’s safety, mental health, and basic dignity. Behind the headlines lies a relentless erosion of safety and rights: shifting school guidelines that compromise a child's trust, severe restrictions on gender-affirming healthcare, and a toxic culture war that bleeds into everyday public spaces that every trans person encounters every day. What makes Cal’s announcement so agonising is the sheer scale of the personal sacrifice - a career, the quiet heartbreak of packing up a lifetime of memories, saying goodbye to elderly grandparents who may never see their grandchild grow up in person, and abandoning siblings, lifelong friends, and the familiar comfort of home. Venturing across the globe to a country where they have no guaranteed safety net or existing support network is daunting, yet remaining in a place that treats their child’s identity as a political battleground was no longer an option. Ultimately, Cal’s sad, moving post serves as an urgent, haunting call to conscience for all of us, but especially politicians @bphillipsonMP Trans people face discrimination every day, in the media, in society, in healthcare and more recently, specifically at work. The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention and Human Security has red-flagged the UK twice in recent months. No other Western European nation has ever been red-flagged. Trans social genocide is a chilling reality in the UK - some other countries know this and shout it out. However, many UK politicians refuse to listen - indeed, some try to outdo each other and make it worse. Culture wars stink. growinguptransgender.com/202…

Helen, stop. Read this. Right now, someone on PIP is reading your timeline. They've seen eleven posts in three weeks calling their support "morally wrong." "Unaffordable." "Unfair." A "lifestyle choice." They didn't choose their condition. They didn't choose to need help. They filled in a 42-page form describing the worst moments of their life. They attended an assessment where a stranger asked them to prove they can't function. They waited months for a decision. They were told yes, you qualify, you ARE that unwell. And now the Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary the person who wants to run the department that assessed them posts every single day that their existence on the system is "morally wrong." How does that feel? To the person with depression who already believes they're a burden. To the person with anxiety who already believes they don't deserve help. To the person who already thought about ending it and decided to ask for support instead. Your words have weight, Helen. You're not a random account with 40 followers. You're the Shadow Secretary of State. When YOU say PIP is "morally wrong," the person reading it doesn't hear "the system needs reform." They hear "YOU are the problem. YOU are the cost. YOU are what's wrong." Eleven times. In three weeks. Every day another post telling vulnerable people they're a burden on the country. If one person reading your timeline today decides they're too ashamed to claim what they're entitled to that's on you. If one person decides the stigma is too much and stops asking for help that's on you. If one person in crisis sees "morally wrong" and believes it about themselves that's on you. Words from the Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary aren't tweets. They're signals. To 4 million PIP claimants. That the person who wants to control their support thinks their existence in the system is morally wrong. Please stop. Reform the system if you want. Publish a policy if you have one. But stop telling vulnerable people, every single day, that needing help is a moral failing. It isn't policy. It's cruelty with a blue tick. if you have a disability or are living with depression and these posts are making things harder you are not the problem. You are not a burden. You are not "morally wrong." You needed help. You asked for it. That took courage. Samaritans: 116 123. Free. 24 hours. Every day. And if you're reading this and you're angry tell Helen. Reply to her. Let her see the people behind the numbers she posts every day.

People keep saying Trump term II is the most corrupt administration ever, so I built a model to find out if it was true. I took the UN's definition of corruption, turned it into eight criteria and 100 points, and scored the leaders history remembers for looting their countries: Marcos, Suharto, Mobutu, Abacha, Obiang, Putin. Then I put every president since Eisenhower on the same scale, both parties, with every exoneration counted right alongside the convictions. Nixon scored 41 and no other American President scored over a 25. Trump's second term scored a 91, which ties him with Suharto and Mobutu and puts him above Marcos and Abacha. So he is not only the most corrupt president in American history. At this pace he finishes his term level with the most corrupt rulers of the last hundred years. PSA: don't come in my comments arguing about the results if you haven't read the full article, because ignorance is a choice. Full article is up now on my Substack (link in bio) and it's free.

In the last five years, there have been a grand total of FOUR complaints in the UK to local authorities and NHS hospitals about trans people. Four. But due to trans hysteria stoked by a billionaire and a rotten media, men and women who are trans were stripped of their rights. Demonised as a threat to women and children. INSANE. @andyburnham @bphillipsonMP @Lord_Collins @UKLabour
444 FOI Requests, 4+ Years: The Real Data on Single-Sex Spaces. Over the past 4+ years, the debate about trans women accessing single-sex spaces (such as hospital wards, public toilets, and changing rooms) has dominated the headlines and policy discussions. But when we set aside the culture-war rhetoric, what do the real data from public service providers show? TransLucent has been seeking answers for nearly five years. Since 2021, TransLucent has conducted seven comprehensive Freedom of Information investigations. We submitted 444 FOI requests to public bodies across the UK - including 180 NHS acute and mental health trusts, all 62 unitary authorities, and the 50 largest local councils - covering tens of millions of people. We asked one straightforward question: How many complaints have you received about trans women using female single-sex spaces? Of the 444 requests sent over nearly five years, more than 98% of responding public bodies reported receiving zero complaints. Across all councils and hospital trusts surveyed, we found just four complaints - 4 complaints in nearly FIVE YEARS One involved a minor inpatient issue at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, which wasn’t escalated beyond the initial stage. One was a single complaint in York. One in Sheffield was based on perception rather than fact. That’s four recorded complaints over nearly five years, spanning healthcare facilities and local government services for tens of millions of people. The evidence consistently shows that official data does not support claims of widespread or systemic issues in these spaces. Good policy starts with good data, and @TransLucent_Org will keep tracking this information as structures and guidance evolve, because evidence matters. translucent.org.uk/four-year…

Please everyone keep sharing this. Data most definitely matters when trans people are being targeted so heavily. Vilified for no reason other than hate or ignorance & denied their rights. Trans people deserve inclusion, respect & dignity, not to be pushed to the margins of society

In the UK at present the Government policy for trans people is “You need to wait until you are 25 - this could be a phase. If you still feel that way after 25 years, we’ll let you join another 20 year queue for treatment. But to keep your place in that 20 year queue, you must submit to Exploratory Therapy - the re-brand - where we encourage you to be c!s. No, you can’t have puberty blockers - we want you to look like your birth sex. You might get used to it. No harm done - aye?”. And they wonder why 40% of trans people consider suicide. @andyburnham @YvetteCooperMP @UKLabour @Lord_Collins

To all the TERFS, FUCK YOU AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON!! BREAKING: Landmark two-year Dutch review of trans healthcare finds ZERO regret among transitioners. Netherland’s Medical Council warns making trans people go through puberties they do not want is NOT a neutral option. erininthemorning.com/p/landm… The politically biased CASS Review set out to 'prove' their pre-conceived position whereas this Dutch review discovered their position. This fundamental framing error by Hillary CASS has caused the quality of their arguments to be so very low. England’s Cass review ignores the consensus of major medical bodies around the world and lacks relevance within an Australian context, say medical practitioners, trans advocates, parents and human rights groups. The Cass review downplays the risk of denying treatment to young people with gender dysphoria and limits their options by placing restrictions on their access to care. “The Cass review recommendations are at odds with the current evidence base, expert consensus and the majority of clinical guidelines around the world,” said Dr Portia Predny, Vice President of The Australian Professional Association for Trans Health (AusPATH). equalityaustralia.org.au/cas…

The whole ‘disability/benefits’ debate is manufactured by the British media & more importantly, the power & money behind it, to whip up disdain for the most vulnerable in society as a distraction from their own ever increasing greed & unwillingness to pay tax on their wealth.
Why do we need to bring down Welfare Spending? The Welfare budget has been 11% of GDP for decades and is projected to to be around 11% of GDP till 2030 👀 At the figures WELFARE SPEND IS NOT BALLOONING Working Age Incapacity benfits due to be stable at 1% GDP till 2030 Total Welfare spend Stable at 11% GDP (& projected to stay at 11% till 2030) Working Age Economic Inactivity Stable at 10M & Has been for 30 years 1995-2024 & ⬇️ in last decade 2011 23.6% 2024 21.2% Working Age (WA) Economic Inactivity as a percentage of Working Age people Down ⬇️in last decade 2011 23.6% 2024 21.2% 2025 20.8% Don't you think you've worried enough disabled and retired people and people with terminal diseases and long term conditions enough? PIP fraud 2024 0.0% 2025 0.4% 1.8M of 3.7M on #PIP are not new claims but adults over 16 migrated from DLA The whole welfare or warfare debate has to ✋ stop You are lying to the country about welfare ballooning 1.8M of the people on #PIP were migrated there from DLA when PIP was established in 2014: Not New Claims The dramatic UC increase is 80% migration from legacy benefits too: not new claims! The BBC’s new journalistic guidance says trans is a “contested idea” - and that trans women should be introduced as “biological males” because it’s “useful for the audience.” Disgusting transphobia 🤮. Who contests it @bbcnews ? 🤷‍♀️ Trans people are a naturally occurring part of humanity. We’ve always existed, and are legally recognised as our true sex in every civilised country. Racists like Nathan Cofnas “contest” Black people are equal to White - but your official guidance doesn’t warn journalists racial equality is up for debate. So why are you telling reporters to give a small but well-connected and obsessive cohort of racists for trans people equal footing with the trans community? 🤷‍♀️ Also, all the stuff about “acquired sex” , “identifies as” - terf language. You are clearly implying trans is a pretence and a lifestyle. 70s homophobia rehashed for the trans community. Also, do you introduce Graham Norton as “a gay man” - distinct from a man? Judy Love as “a Black woman” - distinct from a woman? No. But with someone trans - yes. Why are you not listening to actual trans people about what terms are appropriate - and what is grossly offensive? If the Jewish community - exact same size - told you something was antisemitic, you would drop it IMMEDIATELY. Why the different treatment for us? 🤷‍♀️ Clearly there’s been zero trans input on the guidance @rburgessbbc #InstitutionallyTransphobic

This is the best news I’ve heard today. Well done that LA!!!
This is what you call toilet karma 🧘‍♀️. Personally, I think public and workplace toilets had been working absolutely fine since Thomas Crapper was a boy. But bog hysteria over a problem that never existed - no trans woman has ever attacked a c!s woman in a loo - means Ladies and Gents lavs will become increasingly rare. @bphillipsonMP @andyburnham
