Today on All Souls' Day, we remember all those whom we have loved and who have died. We take comfort in the knowledge that all who have died in the love of Christ will share in his resurrection. We pray for those who mourn, asking that the God of healing may be with them all.

Today, 1 November, the Church celebrates All Saints’ Day, giving thanks for the lives and witness of all the saints who have followed Christ throughout the ages.
In the Gospel, Jesus teaches the Beatitudes, describing a life shaped by mercy, humility, peacemaking and faithfulness. His words remind us that holiness is not found in power or recognition, but in lives transformed by God's love. The saints are not only those whose names are remembered, but also the countless faithful people whose quiet acts of compassion, courage and service have reflected Christ's light in the world.
As we celebrate All Saints’ Day, we give thanks for the communion of saints across generations and nations, and remember that we too are called to lives of holiness, love and service.
Scripture reading: Matthew 5:7–9
‘Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.’
Prayer
Holy God,
we give thanks for all your saints,
whose lives have reflected your love and grace.
Inspire us by their faithfulness
and strengthen us to follow Christ
with humility, courage and compassion.
Make us instruments of your peace,
that through our words and actions
your light may shine in the world.
Unite your Church across nations and generations
in the hope of your eternal kingdom.
Amen.
