I doubt it. A G6 program right now can never make the playoff and it will have zero effect on the coach’s employment because it’s so restrictive. Creating one puts more pressure on the coaches which of course would deter underperformers from supporting it.

No doubt it is almost impossible for even the best G6 teams to compete with the top 6-8 programs in the country (i.e. Ohio St, Georgia, Bama's) due to rev share But that is the case for most of the teams in the Big 12 and ACC at this point. Should they have their own playoff?

G6 teams don't have the depth to make it all the way to the national championship. Most P4 teams don't even have the depth, no where near 24 teams. This is a brutal, punishing sport.

why not have a playoff where 16-24 G6 teams can battle against each other, vs all of G6 battling for one single spot, and always having that spot be a road game as a double digit dog

Don't forget! According to the factoid from 2025 the Media goes by, 48.9% of the viewership is in the G6 markets. The 51.1% belongs to the P4 schools markets. Networks want all eyes on their broadcast (ie... commercials) for those Conference pay outs. P4s should rethink.
