Also yes I understand that the actual payments will differ based on tax filings. Please do not come into my mentions to explain business accounting to me. At the very LEAST they could be applying payments before indexation.

I'm self employed. I pay myself monthly. I pay the PAYGW to the ATO every three months in my business BAS. Why the fuck do they not automatically apply those payments to HECS debts throughout the year.

Just made the mistake of checking my HECS debt and the amount I paid off it last year is only FOURTEEN DOLLARS more than the indexation it just got hit with.
It is absolutely insane to me that it's indexed before the year of payments gets processed.

The recorder has been all over the news this week - and as a pro recorder player and teacher, of course I had THOUGHTS! My dissection of the coverage by @BBCBreakfast, @guardian, @haveigotnews is up on my Youtube channel Team Recorder now!
This week, I’ve been pondering lifestyle inflation. And the question I keep coming back to you, is it lifestyle inflation, or were you just poor and now you’re able to afford all of your basic necessities?

I’ve spent the last two days with these legends: shop assistant, miner, freelancer, sheet metal worker & game designer talking to politicians about the need to change the laws to stop employers casualising jobs @withMEAA @theamwu @MEUAustralia @ProfsAustralia @SDAunion
