I'm self employed. I pay myself monthly. I pay the PAYGW to the ATO every three months in my business BAS. Why the fuck do they not automatically apply those payments to HECS debts throughout the year.

Just made the mistake of checking my HECS debt and the amount I paid off it last year is only FOURTEEN DOLLARS more than the indexation it just got hit with.
It is absolutely insane to me that it's indexed before the year of payments gets processed.

I'm terrified of this honestly. Waited til mid 30s to get diagnosed specifically because I also have hEDS fibro IBS almost certainly POTS and other comorbidities. Didn't feel safe to chase anything even MH adjacent til they were written down properly in case it was all erased...

Growing up in the 90’s/00’s, I learned the hard way not to ask my teachers “why?”
No one else ever did, and I’d want to know why we were asked to do confusing things sometimes. I wasn’t refusing to do them— I just needed to know why we needed to do them (what purpose, what goal, or any reason)
Allegedly, that’s “back-talk” and warrants adults literally yelling at 10 y/o’s
