#MÉXICO 🇲🇽 Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, líder do cartel de Sinaloa, foi preso hoje por agentes dos EUA após ser ENGANADO por um membro de seu próprio cartel para voar para o Texas. Segundo autoridades mexicanas e americanas que confirmaram a emboscada, Joaquín Guzmán López, filho de Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, também foi preso no mesmo avião. Zambada acreditava que inspecionaria campos de pouso clandestinos no México, mas acabou sendo levado para o Texas, onde ele e Guzmán foram detidos ainda na pista. A operação, coordenada com o Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), tinha sido planejada há meses. Fundador do cartel de Sinaloa ao lado de "El Chapo" há três décadas, Zambada lidera uma facção do cartel, principal fornecedor de fentanil para os EUA. Os EUA ofereceram uma recompensa de até $ 15 milhões de dólares por informações que levassem à sua captura. Em fevereiro, promotores dos EUA acusaram Zambada de conspirar para fabricar e distribuir fentanil, sabendo que seria importado ilegalmente para os EUA, além de outras acusações anteriores que ele já acumulava de gerência de empresa criminosa, conspiração para assassinatos e lavagem de dinheiro. A prisão de Zambada é o golpe duro mais recente ao cartel de Sinaloa, alvo prioritário das autoridades dos EUA. Em janeiro de 2023, Ovidio Guzmán, outro filho de “El Chapo”, foi preso e posteriormente extraditado para os EUA, enfrentando acusações de tráfico de drogas. (via WSJ)
