Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello) was just 34 years when he produced Omo Orukan, the story of an orphan who went through tragic travails as he struggled to live life. This was in 1987. According to stories I have heard, this movie practically sold out at every cinema in Nigeria. My dad who was working as a banker in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital at the time said even the film houses in the north were packed up with people wanting to view the movie. 37 years after, Oga Bello’s son, Femi Adebayo is on everybody’s lips following the release of his epic delivery, ‘Seven Doors’. Ironically, Oga Bello acted in movies by Ade Love (Kunle Afolayan’s dad) before producing his own first movie in 1985. Today both Femi Adebayo and Kunle Afolayan are leading forces in the Nigerian movie industry…meanwhile 71-year-old Oga Bello doesn’t seem to be retiring anytime soon. He continues to appear in movies by Kunle and Femi and other top Nollywood productions while he also produces his own movies.

This is on you Michael. You supported your Igbo colleagues who came out for Obi but ridiculed Yoruba actors supporting Tinubu. Have you forgotten your tomfoolery on Daddy Freeze’s live? Why are you accusing others of what you are an expert at?
I wonder how some think they can convince you to support their candidate with insults, tribalistic comments and blatant display of stupidity. Na so una dey do for here? 🤔 #election2027 #votewisely #protectyourvotes

The joke is on you Michael. Get a life, drop the hypocrisy and support your candidate with your full chest while leaving others alone to follow their own choice.
I will not block you yet, I want you to finish screen munching. This is most likely the most exciting your sad, pathetic life has been

One ‘Yoruba but’ called me an “olodo” for this post saying egbon @RuggedyBaba also dissed Black Reverendz (Ayangba Boys) in the same song… Below is an excerpt of my response to the ignoramus… …you already exposed yourself as a dunce who is new to this game. I am not just a writer, I am a culture researcher and I can dedicate time to school you about the Nigerian music industry which you appear to know nothing about. Now let’s have a short session… “See kettle calling the pot black like the reverends, Ayangbana another point of reference” Ehen had 3 verses of 16 bars each (that’s if you even know what this is) and this is the only line he used for Black Reverends which was in passing while actually dissing Rasqie. Guess what, the artistes I mentioned above had full below the belt lines dedicated to hitting them below the belt. And again to show you are either a novice or an actual liar, Ruggedman also mentioned Kennis music industry this track saying they lacked foresight for signing Rasqie. I’m not in the category of people whom you can question their knowledge of the Nigerian music industry, that’s what I breathe and you can make your research about me. I hope you have been schooled enough or do you require further lessons?
Ruggedman is now condemning “tribal rubbish” when he has always been the biggest player in tribal rubbish. Is it a coincidence that he has always been against anything Yoruba all his life despite being a huge beneficiary of the language/culture. Ruggedman’s claim to fame was attacking the biggest Yoruba creatives of the time; Eedris Abdulkareem, Rasqie and Maintain (Olu & Tolu). Oh it didn’t end there, he moved on to the biggest Yoruba music promoters of the era; Keke and D1 (the industry also had big players like Obi Asika of Storm and Solomon Arueya of WestSide et al but only the Yoruba players got his attack). It didn’t stop there, there were several top rappers of different tribes but Ruggedman chose to go to war with Modenine (Segun Babatunde) who took him to the cleaners anyway. He even picked another battle with 9ice (I personally believed 9ice was wrong on this anyway) but Ugochukwu has a reputation for being antagonistic of ONLY Yoruba colleagues. During the infamous #ENDSARS campaign, Ruggedman was one of the most vocal campaigners and severally spoke against police brutality especially in Lagos but somehow, he missed the most documented case of police brutality and misuse of power, the hapless James Nwafor; commander of the dreaded Akwuzu SARS of Anambra state. He was simply fixated everywhere else. Ruggedman attended LASU and paid next to nothing in tuition yet he believes Lagos hasn’t done anything for him. His biggest hits Ehen (featuring the late NoMoreLoss) and Ruggedy Baba (featuring 9ice) had Yoruba collaborators who gave the songs the life that made them hits (let’s not even talk about the fact that both were produced by Yoruba men) but he doesn’t take chances whenever Yoruba is being attacked. Circa 2023 elections, several Igbo celebrities openly supported Peter Obi and everybody believed they had every right to their choice but same Ruggedman chose to attack Yoruba actors who were supporting Tinubu…such a hypocrite. Now that the people are fighting back, this ancient of days is suddenly against “tribal rubbish”. Egbon, take your L, infact I remove the egbon because a 53-year-old man who has never been married and never fathered a child deserves no respect where I come from. Stop disguising, support your candidate with your full chest, you claimed to be bold in the past, continue on that path Michael.

Absolutely. I remember Damoche calling me to ask where if I was at my faculty but I was in Somolu working on my campus magazine production. We agreed to meet in school the following day but he was killed moments later on his way home…that incident keeps messing with my head.

Ilẹ̀ ń jẹ ènìyàn… The trio dressed in white have all passed on. They died in their prime. While Dagrin and Lala were music superstars, Olamus was an amazing singer and artiste manager who managed the duo. Olamus had initially signed Dagrin and Lala to Satty Records owned by his friend, Ibrahim Salawe (on black) before going on to establish Dagrin’s Misofunyin Entertainment where he operated as head. Dagrin died in 2010 after an unfortunate car accident which got Olamus and Lala weeping inconsolably. Then Olamus died in 2020 while Lala passed on a few months later in 2021. Òkú ń sunkún òkú, àkàsọ̀lórí ń sunkún ara wọn.

Dear @PulseNigeria247, it is not a probability. It is not negotiable. A groom MUST prostrate before his in-laws. Anything outside this isn’t a traditional Yoruba wedding. However, I believe the only exception is for an Oba because there are not permitted traditionally to bow to anyone. Infact, an Oba doesn’t attend this occasion and only send emissaries.

When Buhari was president, you lot pushed the agenda that he is the only Nigerian who doesn’t have a middle name. Na Bola turn for now.
To the Yorubas defending everything, chew on this: I have never seen someone bear the name "BOLA" as a standalone name. I have seen "Abimbola", "Ajibola" etc. And they in-turn funkinize it to 'BOLA'. So explain how a man would wake up, tell you his name is BOLA and you didn't question his ancestry?! Instead, you gave him a state to control, then rigged him into the Federal House. Tribalism has dealt a huge blow on the Yoruba race.

Every region except the North East has got an international airport; Ikeja, PH, Enugu, Kano and Abuja but guess who is lamenting. Despite Kano having an international airport, most international travellers in northern Nigeria use Abuja airport but we don’t see them crying fowl and wishing for Abuja to collapse. Nigeria’s largest indigenous airline is owned by an Igboman who choses to have his primary and secondary hub outside Enugu, you have no problem with that but will blame every other person who have done you no wrong.
Replying to @TheKayodeBadmus
When it’s convenient Igbos are expansionists, when it’s not, PH is Igbo land, so SE don’t need a functional international airport.

It is time to romanticise Yoruba again, when the election is lost next year, they will return to their Yoruba hate.
The rate at which Yorubas are working hard for Peter Obi and Kwankwaso in Lagos and Ogun state don dey fear me. E come be like say them wan come serious pass me

When it is convenient, Port Harcourt is Igboland, at other times, it is not…depending on the agenda being pushed. The only people who believe others have to collapse for them to rise.
Replying to @Bond_not_james
One day you’ll understand that things are not straightforward in Nigeria as you think. Give another International airtline frequency slot into Enugu and see if PH Int’l will not collapse. Whenever air France lands in PH, see the number of Passengers from it going to SE

Frank Underwood moves.
By the way, the same thing almost happened in Oyo state. The only thing Governor Seyi Makinde didn’t do was to kidnap the now APC candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Ali. The High Chief was next in line to become a beaded-crown Oba in Ibadan which would have limited his political ambitions. Governor Seyi Makinde knowing fully well that the man has gubernatorial ambitions and was likely to clinch the APC ticket wanted to crown him and two others immediately despite the candidate writing to him that he was unavailable and requested that the coronation be deferred. Governor Seyi Makinde, discountenanced the letter and his administration went ahead to install the Candidate (Ekaarun Balogun of Ibadanland) and two other High Chiefs as beaded-crown Obas in absentia.

And Ruggedman used to have sense o. Now that his career is dead, he has resorted to peddling misinformation.

The worst era of ASUU strike was the Obasanjo/Atiku administration. The rather interesting thing however is that it was the same period they both decided to establish their personal private universities rather than solve the ASUU strike menace. Obasanjo established Bells University while Atiku founded American University of Nigeria.
Before Tinubu came, you’ll use almost 7 years for a 4-year course due to ASUU strikes, so bad that parents started taking loans here and there to get their wards educated via private schools. Some even take LAPO and SEAP loans before they can afford the “affordable” FG schools

My people will say whoever promises to give you clothes, you should first look at what he himself is wearing. As governor, did Peter Obi offer Anambra students free education? Around the same time, Tinubu was giving free education in Lagos, infact Tinubu paid for my WAEC and NECO fees after I had gotten free education all my secondary school years. I attended LASU and my school fees was 25k which meant 100k for the entire four sessions I spent in school. But guess what? As a Lagosian, these tuition was refunded under the Lagos state bursary scheme which means I practically got free education at university level. Can anybody who went to school in Anambra during the time of Peter Obi share their own experience too? Whoever promises to give you clothes, you should first look at what he himself is putting on, what is Peter Obi’s education legacy in Anambra? Some nuisance will say he took WAEC from number 99 to number 1…jokers. Finally, congratulations dear Prof. Pat Utomi on your appointment as Delta state representative in Peter Obi’s campaign council…what a growth from Presidential candidate to presidential aspirant to presidential campaign council member. Kudos sir.
Norway uses its oil wealth to support public services, including education. Young Norwegian students can attend public universities without tuition fees, while children benefit from free public primary and secondary education. Nigeria is also an oil-producing country, we should borrow a leaf from Norway and turn our oil wealth into better schools, affordable university education, and opportunities for young people. Our natural resources should improve the lives of our people, not just enrich a few, stop defending the politicians who are impoverishing you with their inhumane policies.

The fact remains that the high cost of food in Nigeria has very little to do with the food itself. Much of the problem lies in the cost of transporting agricultural produce from farms to markets and, ultimately, to consumers. This is as a result of inadequate transportation infrastructure especially road networks and unfortunately, insecurity. These amateurs think fighting poverty means giving free food to the poor.
You are still NOT making sense young lady. So when the farmer in the north haverst his crops, how does he move it to the market, via helicopter? This is what silly partisanship and lack of proper training causes. Go learn journalism and stop using the studio to parrot your bias

The man isn’t just dull, he obviously has an agenda. The only distinct ethnic group in Yoruba land are the Ogus, who are popularly known as Egun. They are distinct because they share more similarities with the Gun and Fon tribes of Benin Republic where they migrated from and their language, well like many others in Yorubaland is also quite distinct. Yet, we would never classify them as half Yoruba like that man was painting not to talk of Ondo or Ekiti.
Yorùbá already have a saying for someone like you. A kìí mọ̀yá Ọ̀ṣọ́ jọ̀ṣọ́ lọ. You already goofed when you said Yorùbás view people from Èkìtì and Òndò as not fully Yorùbá. There's nothing like that. You're Yoruba. That's all. You were corrected and you came up with this? How can you know Yorùbá Land, more than a Yorùbá man who lives in Yorùbá Land, when the conversation started with you making wrong assertions about Yorùbá Land? Pride mixed with ignorance does no good for/to anyone.
