Six months ago I started coaching @TilfordCC ‘s first ever women’s cricket team. None had played before. On Sunday, after topping their league, they won the Surrey County Cup. Surely a British film to be made? Keira Knightley, Emily Blunt…James Norton as coach perhaps?
A breakdown of how right wing outrage gets generated by bad actors by removing nuance, context and, well, facts. Bravo to Emma.
You’d think that Victoria Derbyshire might have put numbers on the current IHT situation. Ie it only kicks in at 40% for the bit of the estate over £1m.
But that might have allowed a better discussion between the guests rather than a bun fight which is what #Newsnight prefers.
Everything about the Time interview is alarming.
The rambling. The repetition. The venality. The narcissism. The soullessness. The paranoia. The amnesia. The incoherence. The delusional. And the photo that depicts the putrid decay of both body and mind.
TIME: Do you think the American people misunderstood that? I feel like most people heard you say four to six weeks.
Trump: "No, I think the press fed it to them, so that—look, we were in Vietnam for 21, 20, years. We were in Afghanistan for many years. We were in Korea for many. We're everywhere for many years. I'm in there now for six months, and I've destroyed their nuclear capability..."

This is the BS Trump has on the Wall Of Presidential Portraits at the WhiteHouse. This is the despicable type of BS Trump says about Obama.
He doesn't even use Joe Biden's name. He's called Auto Pen.
What's worse is that he is allowed do do this type of BullSh *t with taxpayer dollars.
Seriously, does a self-indulgent man like this deserve to be the president.

Some photographs are so iconic, they will go down in history. They capture a moment so perfectly that, decades later, we can look at them and immediately understand something about the people and the time in which they live.
One of the most chilling examples is the famous photograph known as “Eyes of Hate” - that 1933 photograph of Joseph Goebbels, captured in the moment after he learned that the photographer assigned to photograph him was Jewish.
Look at his eyes. You don't need a caption. You don't need an explanation. The hatred is right there.
And now, we have a new “Eyes of Hate” photograph for our generation - this one, snapped yesterday during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit.
Look at their eyes. Really look at them. They show the very essence of these two people. There is no warmth. No joy. No humanity. Just that cold, unmistakable look of contempt.
And the question isn't whether they hate someone. The question is who they hate.
They hate the people who stand in their way. They hate the people who challenge them. They hate the people who refuse to bend the knee. They hate the journalists, the critics, the protesters, the immigrants, the political opponents, the institutions that constrain them, and anyone who dares to say, “No.”
Ultimately, they hate the very idea that the American people are supposed to be their masters - not the other way around.
That is what makes this photograph so chilling. Because sometimes a photograph captures far more than a facial expression. Sometimes it captures an entire moment in history.
We will look back at this photograph years from now and remember exactly what we were seeing. Eyes of hate.
And they were looking straight at us.

Here is Trump in 2011 calling Obama “stupid” for hosting the Chinese president and claiming that he wouldn’t give him a dinner.
“The president of China came a few months ago and we gave him a state dinner. Now, when people are screwing you, you don't give them state dinners.”
Fast-forward 15 years and Trump is giving President Xi a state dinner while China is helping Iran target American service members.
Who is the stupid one now?

“Nigerian Scammer”. There are reports this guy is already back working for Nigel Farage. And is about to be formally appointed his new chief of staff.
Have you seen this before???
When Kemi Badenoch speaks to other Nigerians, she turns off her fake English accent.
She also tells them that she loves Nigeria just as much as England.
And what’s all this about saying Islamic prayers in Nigeria?
She is running to be PM while stating equal allegiance to another country???
How are people still falling for this Nigerian scammer?
Don’t give her your credit card number and bank account details! 🤣

Just 4 months after the local elections, Reform UK (RefUK) have lost 158 of their local councillors:
-55 resigned
-42 went Independent
-28 defected
-24 were kicked out
-5 lost their seats
-2 disqualified
-2 suspended.
Appalling record - and a waste of taxpayers’ money!

Ok, so, a short recap of what’s happened:
Farmers need potash as fertilizer. Potash is necessary to grow food and feed the world.
Yet Trump started a completely pointless war in Iran which choked off the Strait of Hormuz. This limits the world supply of potash, as million of tons of it come from Jordan and must travel through the Strait.
Ok, no problem. Our friendly neighbors to the north of us just happen to be the world’s #1 exporter of potash. We’ll just buy from them!
Oh wait, Trump completely wrecked our friendship with Canada for literally no reason by slapping them with egregious tariffs and insulting them by calling them the 51st state.
Well, darn. Ok, then we’ll make a deal with the #4 exporter of potash, Belarus. Belarus is a dictatorship and one of Putin’s satellite states. So, by buying from Belarus, we are indirectly helping Putin fund his war in Ukraine. Not good, but we need to eat.
Oh wait, all of Belarus’ potash has already been spoken for. There’s none for us to buy.
The USA is going to be in deep crap next growing season, and it’s not the kind of crap that can fertilize a field. There WILL be food shortages. Americans WILL go hungry.
That’s the art of the deal, baby!
Lazy football report from BBC News talking about Spurs being “brushed aside by Liverpool.”
Thought it was much closer than the eventual score suggests.
Put me in charge of tennis. First thing I would do is impose a 3 bounce pre serve limit. Fuck Zverev and Djokovic! #USOpen
Martina yet to acquire the commentator’s sense of the impact of silence. Sometimes less is more. #usopen
DJ blasting music out next to the 18th green of the #SolheimCup and putting the players off. Sport - see The Hundred, US Tennis Open et al - currently has an obsession with filling every moment between action with music. It’s so unnecessary.
Justin Webb on @BBCr4today seemed intent this morning on framing Ed Miliband as not being a proper Jew.
Not his finest hour.
