I appreciated @annelongfield’s really excellent answer to my question in a committee meeting today about the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill.
Play sufficiency and a national play strategy would be superb first steps towards improving our playgrounds.

A symbolic act may be to remove No Ball Games signs.
How about replacing with locally suggested alternatives?
Like ‘Jumpers for Goalposts’
as suggested by resident Owen.

This article about enjoying the playful benefits of mud made me think about one of the @ThePlaylaws suggested by 2 year old Harry last year.

No Playlaws, as yet, saying 'every public space should have giant ball runs' but it can only be a matter of time before people see sense...#CambridgePlaylaws

We had such a lovely launch weekend, so many great pictures to share, here are few to whet your appetite from fantastic photographer Claire Haigh.

2) Wow what a shot! This is Joe Lewis, one of the 3 co-directors of the amazing community indoor Skate Park 'The Warehouse' which opened last weekend. Here he is close to Donkey Common where the 'Can you do a 360 Flip' Playlaw plaque is located.

Wiggling away so fast that all we can see is a blur...Before this little patch of land didn't have a name, until Ella and her dad did a wiggle dance and named it 'Wiggle Bottom Park' inspiring new shapes/shimmers and a playlist no less

ALT this picture has an adult on the left frolicking in a blur as she shimmies and wiggles in front of a Playlaw plaque on a plinth. This Playlaw is a yellow heritage style plaque on the edge of a manicured pocket park in the heart of Cambridge, just metres up from the train station. Next to her is a girl with a mauve pink pair of trousers and a mint top, her arms outwide, wiggling.

This wonderful initiative by @camcitco @theplaylaws is a reminder of what George Bernard Shaw reminded us “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing.”

Over the weekend we had the pleasure of visiting the new Cam Skate Indoor Park and meeting the co-founders.
One of our 10.6 Plaques is 'Can you do a 360degree flip'?

This PlayLaw is wonderful, in a world where spaces are designed to stop young people loitering & this is just a part of being young. Us older folk took loitering for granted. Better, it's in a space where young folk love to loiter. Wonderful stuff @ThePlaylaws @CambJunction
